Can someone explain the difference between pal and ntsc, and how do you know if you have it? also which one is better?
There are 3 regions.

1.NTSC-U (this is found in USA, Canada)
2.PAL (this is found in UK, Middle East)
3.NTSC-J (this is found in Pakistan, Asia)

PS3 is region free so it doesn't matter what region your game is and what console you have.Which means all region games will work on you PS3.
But if you want the download content etc. its good to have NTSC-U console.
Also, NTSC-U is generally considered a better region and its games are slightly expensive over here.

LOL it doesn't matter what region your CONSOLE is, if you want the DLC's with ease then buy region 1 or region 3 GAMES as PSN cards for both of these regions are easily available now on PG, again regarding PS3 region doesnot matter (y)

Yo !

I posted a while back about how my Ps3 was getting slower .. The end result was bad sectors (as suggested by a handful of helpers here).

the Full HDD Format is being projected as the best possible remedy .. I Shall be doing that soon hopefully

I Just wanted to enquire whether there is a possbility that i may have incurred any viral files from Online usage and stuff ? Does the Ps3 come equipped with some sort of anti-virus or somthing . ? if not, does any of you here manually use one or not ?

Hit back Soon.
Cheerios. ! =)

@Kichoo man if ur warranty is still valid nd the hard disc is original u can get it done. Actually 2.5 hdds are nt made that resistant to any such thing as loadsheding as they are used by laptop which have batteries. Ur problem is rare but exists. My advise: buy a 320 hdd nd plug it in the ps3. It shud set u back by 6k but well worth it. Try western digital or seagate and look for "sata laptop hdd 5400rpm" with the capacity. 7200rpm does nt give u a gud speed boost, heats up faster and has more wear and tear because of the high speed rate, ps. Bad sectors are a hardware issue and can nt be solved by formatting. Software claiming to remove them only hides them. A crash is inevitable sooner or later so change it now. Hope i helped

@Rahim.

Thanx a lot man .... Really helpful ... But im still lost. =/.
6 Months Service warranty given by PS Club but that expired in February .. So now i have to think of something else.

A 320 GB HDD (External) on the PS3 .. ? That sounds Extreme. ! =P.

I got a Chinese 250 GB one today .. Hooked it up with the system for testing ... I have one more query to ask ..

The HDD initally came with two partitions, 12 and 220 GB respectively. When i hook it up with the Ps, it automatically reads the 12 GB partition .... Is there ANY way i can manually access the drive, and maybe redirect the path so that it reads from the Second Partition...

Please do help me out, it'll help me with the Backup Facility and hence the Full HDD Format.

(Sorry Rahim, but i gotta take this one step, just to see what happens. If all else fails, then im up for the 6k) =P

thought i had a ps3 for some time due to cash constraint i sold it off , but was thinking is the xbox 360 better then the ps3

i ask this coz

1. the games for xbox 360 are quite cheap as compared to ps3
2. i dont find any sort of an advantage in geting ps3 coz games are to expensive
3. xbox live rocks

no doubt that i will get it regardless coz i must have it , but still , do u guys think its a wise
investment , i also have an xbox 360 , the only thing that matters to me is that the damn games are to expensive i mena 4000 for a game is to much .

graphics wise some titles are better on 1 console and some are better on the other console .

what do u guys say

although im not entirely sure but i have heard from a place that the ps3 has its own voltage converters, i guess you have confirmed it for me..... and that signing out is probably due to ure internet connection...call the isp and get it fixed
