ist of all can we see ur work with 550D ... i hope u shoot in RAW n have explored fully the true potential of 18mp sensors in that body!
u have that 18mp sensor in that body n u tried ur hands on just the kit lenses n now u think d7k will make things different for u ...
instead of wasting money on new body n still using it with kitlens ... plz get better lenses ... i know every one wants new gears ... but its same like watching normal cable on a 3d led tv ... u see just 1/4th of its real potential ...
in general i am against upgrading bodies ... cause when our eyesight weakens we dnt change eyes ... we buy spectacles ... so ist try to change the glass of ur camera n if still u hate it :) then by all means buy something new
yes u can change body ... d7k is great ... but ill suggest plan to buy few lenses with it ... like a 10-20mm or a fisheye ... or a macro lens ... things totally change when ur field of view becomes wider or narrower than normal ... so must plan on buying these lenses ... d7k has best APSC sensor out there ... but im living with my brand till the time Magic Lantern is free for Canon :)

at what ISOs u were shooting??? n were u using flash???
thats where when people say buy FAST LENSES!!!
fast lenses dnt mean they r faster in speed ... they have wider aperture
i believe u were using kitlens ... which opens upto f3.5 and the ISO usable range on that sensor is around 3200 ... so a time comes when u cant increase ISO and u cant change the sensor then the only thing which can be changed is lens ...
cheapest n widest lenses out there r 1.8f 50mm ... ull need to take this lens along on ur next party/event/indoor gathering/low light situations ...
and further more u can improve the lighting by buying a flash ... i would recommend youngnu 465EX or 565EX ... costs 7 n 13k respectively (new) ...

Oh. I never realized that this stuff affects focusing too. I thought it was only related to exposure.
I did crank up the ISO to 6400 and the flash to +1 EV, but still it didn't solve the problem.
And I am planning to get a 1.8f 35mm. Bas rokra ka thora masla hai. :p

I want to buy a camera in the 25-30K range, I'll be mostly using it for casual photography nothing serious. Could you recommend me some models and/or shops (lahore)?

keep your existing camera and buy new lenses 75-300mm ultrasonic zoom lens wont provide you macro results :p bhaiya pehle ek cheez ko to nichor lo phir D7 pe ana 550D is best till now for begining and mid range

Ummm.. You guys are right in your opinion but the problem is that 550D lcd :/ which sometimes is annoying while capturing pics from difficult angles. I do agree that Canon 550D is a very good camera.

P.S If I invest in some lenses then which lenses are you guys gonna suggest me? I have 18-55 Default Kit lens and Ultrasonic 75-300mm.

DSLR suggestions

Have decided to buy a DSLR. Currently I have a canon S5IS so I'll need some explanations about the lenses and other stuff.

Currently I saw the Canon 600D with an 18-200mm lens for 4400 dirhams or the same with an 18-55mm lens for 3100 dirhams.
Any other suggestions in this price range and if it is a good deal or not and which lens to get and stuff like that :p

if you are in karachi then just go to Saddar near Regal Centre you will find Golden Camera shop there he will tell u new and used prices :) aur haan woh exchange main bhi deal karta hai

Just saw the price of the lens Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens DAYYYUUMMMM!! its around 60k :O :/
