Bioshock was different, COD is a war game, and war games have to use a different formula for SP, MW2 got that formula almost right, But they didn't bother making the Sp more than 6 hours long and it kinda came up short, It was still an awesome experience but it wasn't the best, one of the reasons was that it was over too quickly.

Exactly my point. Theres not much you can do with a war game that hasn't been perfected in COD4. This is more or less the same experience. Not vastly different. Not worthy of the 'best SP ever' when you have the option of other pretty effin' awesome titles.

the hate for this game on this board is fucking weird.

i played the shit out of COD4, it has one of the most explosive and awe-inspiring single player campaigns in any FPS i've played, i'm not expecting anything different from this.

MP isn't my foray, but it's a plus and obviously most of the internet is going crazy over it.

Surely the COD4 single player is one of the best ever in FPS and MW2 can only be better compared to it.

I have played the the shit out of COD4 MP(still playing) and can easily say it's the best MP game i have played along with KZ2 this gen. MW2 will exceed COD4 on MP part and that's very certain. The only issue with the game is prolly... it does not compete with current best looking games.

No one knows how big a sample space was used to conduct those 'many researches', and hence, their credibility is seriously at doubt....in fact, I can't believe you're actually using them to support your argument

If you can't take the word of GameInformer/Square trade as credible then i guess there is absolutely no point for me to continue my conversation based on those sources...

And I agree with that....yes, the Wii library is mostly filled with gimmicky stuff....but if you believe in the term 'system seller', then the handful of great games make up for it (such as Super Mario Galaxy, which is rated higher than every single 360 exclusive to date)

Yes, and the Xbox 360 also dominated the Charts for the first time (after the release of Wii/PS3) in September 2007....btw why are we talking about system sellers? I was just pointing out how awful most of the games on the Wii are...

Maybe you should re-check what the critics said regarding the last major Halo game....generally favorable, yes....universal acclaim, no

Played a bit just now. Its pretty much the same experience as COD4. I hate that all missions are over wayyyyy too soon. I try my best to listen to the entire mission briefings but it just gets too boring in between the insane action. The riot shield is a nice touch. It further immerses you in the intense combat scenes. Some lighting changes in the engine look decent. But I still don't see what IGN saw to give it a perfect rating, even @ 1080p with its ultra sharp and crisp textures with no jaggies whatsoever. Solid looking engine, but the wow factor simply isn't there anymore (aside from a few set pieces in the game, where credit goes to the presentation).

Modern Warfare 2 sells 1.23 Million copies in UK on first day!

According to official GfK-ChartTrack numbers obtained by MCV, the title sold 1,230,588 copies in 24 hours – smashing the previous record set by Rockstar's 2007 release.

The number represents close to one in 24 UK homes.

The news puts MW2 easily on course to hit the 1.7 million sales forecast by MCV last month – and means it's already matched HMV's slightly more conservative estimate.
