The Tutorial
In my opinion, there are only two main genres of music from which other sub-genres branch out. Rock and Metal. I'm not a believer of Hip-Hop and i think that Pop is just too lame.
Note:-Guitars, whichever brand, are not devided into Metal and Rock. Its upto the player on what he or she decides.
Two guitar brands dominate the rock genre.
Fender and Gibson. The most iconic Gibson guitar is the Les Paul which Slash of Guns n Roses play. The most popular Fender guitar is the Starocaster. Prominent Starocaster players are Eric Clapton and John Mayer.
There are a number of brands that provide guitars for the metal genre. The 7 prominent brands (in my opinion) in metal are:-

His red guitar is a PRS and is a Carlos Santana Signature Series Guitar.

The Late Cliff Burton(Metalllica)(He was crushed under his tour bus when they were touring Europe).
Buying the Guitar:-
If you're a metal guitarist or an aspiring metal guitarist, I suggest you go for the above mentioned brands of guitars. These guitars are way more cheaper than Gibson because of the tonewood used.
Tonewood is what the main body of the guitar is made of. Different woods produce warmer or colder tones.
Mahogany(prefered by Gibson and Fender) is the most expensive guitarwood commercially used. The wood produces a very warm tone which is suitable for rock. One low-end Mahogany (Gibson&Fender) guitar is worth around 20k.
Maple(prefered by the above mentioned 7 brands) is way more cheaper than Mahogany. The wood produces a colder tone which is better for metal to produce the haunting effects that most metal ballads or slower metal songs have. The price for a low-end Metal Guitar starts around 6-7k.

The Guitar Black Market is located In the Peshawar Bara. Its in Sitara Market. The Guitars here are very cheap :rock:
If possible, go for the Black Market Guitars, they're cheaper and you can spend the extra money on Moding your systems.
