Well like you said, chalk it up to it being a niche title. The Japanese tend to do bizarre things when it comes to "their" games. Just look at the Yakuza series.
The DLC you mentioned, is it free or do we have to purchase them?

As many of you are aware BlazBlue: Continuum Shift has been pushed back to the 3rd of December. In keeping with our promise, we’re updating you guys on the events surrounding this delay.

As we reported last week, we finally resolved the issue that was delaying the game and BlazBlue: Continuum Shift finally went into pro...duction. Unfortunately, once this process of (manufacture, shipping etc) of the game has begun, we are unable to control exactly when the game is actually released into stores – as much as we’d like to.

We do completely understand your annoyance with the delay. So to say thanks for your continued support and patience surrounding the release, we’ve decided to reward those who have been awaiting their Fans Edition with a bonus gift – an exclusive, Limited Edition Taokaka mouse mat.

Well, after months of hardwork, and totalling playing hours that rival my SSFIV game time (but not SFIV), I have finally, finally achieved the platinum for this game. Not only that, I've got 100% completion for the 2 DLC characters as well (and not waiting for the third character - Platina). And I have to say, this is the toughest platinum trophy I've ever done. More difficult that SSFIV definitely. In difficulty rating:
BB:CS > SSFIV > SFIV > BB:CS > T6

Its been a wild, fun and sometimes frustrating ride. In BBCT, I mashed buttons and didn't know about the game's mechanics too well. Hence, I didn't feel pissed when I lost online (like I did in SF4). But this time around, everytime I lost to scrub tactics, I felt like swearing out loud and throwing my stick at the TV.

All in all, I feel very satisfied with this game. The story mode was spectacular this time around, with the gag endings and 4th wall breaking. The challenge mode makes SSFIV's trial mode look like child's play, and the infamous score attack mode is so hard but oh so rewarding. This game is totally worth the $40 but I still think SSFIV offers better value for money. BB:CT was my first platinum ever, and its fitting that BB:CS is my 11th.

Because they've given you one better - Beginner mode.

When you select a character you can press L1 to activate beginner mode. In beginner mode tapping A, B buttons makes you do combos, pressing C button does special moves. Pressing D does throws. You can hold A/B/C for a few seconds to do a Distortion Drive, and hold all 3 to do Astral heat.
As a tradeoff, you don't have burst icons, so you can't use bursts and you can't do Rapid Cancels.
