Do these 4G devices (MBB?) have better reception than phones?
My phone has these stats on the LTE I'm usually connected to:
RSRP: -104
RSRQ: -12
ASU: 37
Power: Fluctuates wildly (20-70)
My experience with them has been roughly the same as on mobile (Slightly better though).
As Murtaza said, Try getting one with an external antenna that you can mount on your balcony or something which should give you some solid signals.
There are also 3G/4G Routers available you may be able to use (Zong has their Bolt Ultra). The Zong router does have two antenna ports where you could plug in external antennas.
I'm not sure whether they're for extending the range for better-capturing 4G signals or the WiFi throughout the house. I also saw a Huawei 4G router online for about the same price that you could look into.
Both routers cost close to 5Krs. The benefit with these is you can hook up a pc/laptop or another router via Ethernet which would take one more annoyance out of the way (*cough* shit wifi lag *cough*)
I haven't tried the routers myself but I would love some feedback from users on their experience on the forum. I have a friend who basically has a 4G network running throughout his house and gaming for him is shit, PeeTCL isn't an option for him since it sucks). IDK if the routers have better signals than MiFi devices but if they do, along with the ability to connect to the router via ethernet (Throwing away any wifi related ping issues) gaming on 4G would be a pleasant experience for most people. If the router gave 3-4bars of 4G where users would normally get 1-3bars.
Edit: It seems the Zong Bolt Ultra router does support external antennas. In fact, it supports two of them at the same time. It has ports in the back for the antennas.
Now if Zong didn't willingly lock out any options in the firmware to use the external antennas... all should be good.
