Reference my previous post regarding fluctuation of 4G signals on Telenor while using Galaxy S8 SM-G950FD.

A couple of other folks across xda and twitter were facing similar situation.

The results were narrowed down to the fact that lower band 2G, 3G and 4G were not usable. E.G 850MHz and 900MHz. (later tested, other networks also didn't work)

1800 MHz and 2100 MHz were usable with good signal strength.

I don't know what the issue was. Flashing didn't help. Maybe the anomaly was related to hardware.

On top of that, I didn't have warranty for the phone as I was not sure about warranty claims for Samsung in Pakistan. How worse can that get?

Sigh. Warranty is a must.

For info and record if someone else faces similar issue.

So - even 2G 900Mhz won't work on the S8?

That's pants, for a flagship phone.

2G, 900 and 1800 both work fine.

Warranty won't help. Depends how antennas are placed and the modem used in the phone. Telenor seems to have their transmit power reduced on LTE as compared to other networks so the signal strength is significantly lower.
No way to get around this.

I reckon it was a hardware problem. Because, i checked it with another s8, it was working fine.

Local ping is really great now but routing is still messed up to Middle East Servers. You cannot beat TELENOR'S routing. But speeds are awesome :) i wished i didnt deactivated the package as its still working for my friend :(

So finally Rooted my RN4. Sargodha has been upgraded to 15 MHz today or yesterday. Because last time I checked speed was not more than 10 Mbps. Uploading is still low. I think they optimising network now.

Why NSG does not show spectrum width on 3G?

Because it's always 5Mhz. And in some cases, 10Mhz. Not more.

Phil should be held responsible for this shitfest too, just like Sarah, but it's highly likely that these decisions are coming from Satya. And this isn't even the end of it. More closures are coming.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
