An alleged official press photo of the Google Nexus 5 has surfaced after the smartphone made several appearances in the past weeks. The press shot of the Nexus 5 confirms the phone's exterior, while a good chunk of its specification sheet also leaked in a benchmarking website GFXBench.

Expected Specs:
  • LG-made - Said to be based on the LG G2
  • Snapdragon 800 chipset - Four 2.3GHz Krait 400 cores
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • Resolution 1794 x 1080 (read 1920x1080)
  • 2GB of RAM
  • No microSD card slot.
  • 13MP Shooter

What do you expect? It's an LG.
:fp2:

Once again with these hypocrite thoughts.

Nexus 4 also looks ugly in the screenshots. Does that mean it looks ugly in personal as well? Nexus 7 2013 also looks pretty lame in pictures. But does the actual design and feel of the tablet any worse? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

I had a hunch that the next nexus will more likely represent the Nexus 7 2013 look and feel and it seems i was right. The 3D model shows absolutely gorgeous design and if its cheap, its gonna rock the boat once again.

If you think the picture you posted shows a 'gorgeous' design, then I really want to know what you find ugly. Because that 'thing' looks absolutely atrocious.

And the new Nexus 7 looks pretty nice in pictures actually.

Check out the 3D Render and imagine if its made out of same material as Nexus 7. I highly doubt if it'll look more ridiculous than your views regarding LG.

I however would love to see an Officially released picture.

Google should have given a chance to HTC.
Just imagining the aluminium unibody construction on Nexus 5
and lastly it should have something special other then just stock experience.

HTC One & Galaxy S4 Google Edition already available on PlayStore, The Latest Nexus is based on LG G2, which is superior to both HTC One & Galaxy S4 in terms of Hardware/Performance.

I feel sorry for the people who are obsessively brand conscious. It's a widely accepted notion most phones look nothing special on paper, or even on screen for that matter.

What new is the Nexus 5 bringing to the table? Similar quad-core processor and 2GB RAM with no microSD slot? I'm pretty sure other devices would be getting KitKat in the near future.

Why shouldn't you be brand conscious when you're shelling out 40-50k on a phone?

Point is like before this will also launched in $350 price range bracket, top notch specs in that price is hard to believe, I dont give a damn how the phone looks its performance that matters.

There's very little wrong in being brand conscious. It's only when obsessiveness kicks in do problems arise. A blind person can sense the obvious bias in your posts.

LG is by no means on the level of Xiaomi, Q-mobile, Pantech or G-five. It's a reputable brand and the Nexus 4 sales and personal experiences have been largely great in this regard.
Why else would Google retain LG as its manufacturer of choice for Nexus 5 if that wasn't the case? Surely they did something right here.
