Gamers in general are idiots and toxic (easily verifiable from online interactions), especially when it comes to understanding real world issues beyond the senseless action they are used to in games. The like/dislike ratio is a representation of that, if anything. Nor is it surprising or the first time that a game has received such response for going beyond the two brain cells that most gamers have. Unless, of course, one is suggesting that the blind phobia and hate of some gamers, rooted in ignorance and 'otherizing' of people different from them, is the product of misunderstood academic genius having nothing to do with cultural prejudices and personal biases.

I think if there was a hidden agenda behind these dislikes the previous trailers would have been met with a similar response but that is not the case. :p

You and I both know this is a direct response to leaks and how some of the revelations have triggered a bunch of people because of their nature, including some on this very forum :laugh1:

Well yeah, and a lot of people clearly didn't like what they saw in the leaks. But lets just conveniently brush off that possibility right?

I don't know which revelation you are talking about. Maybe write it in a spoiler tag?

I don't think we need to go into spoiler details, but just a glance at this very topic will show how some users on this site have been unsettled for a while by a lesbian protagonist :laugh1:

probably the same users here who hit dislike on that awesome trailer :p

Or probably many people who just don't like certain major story beats. That would explain why the previous trailers didn't get the same treatment in terms of dislikes when protagonists orientation was already known then :p

Bhai the same people who now dump everything on the story (which is not even known at this point) were already triggered from 'that' trailer two years ago. The hate train was progressively building up anyway and is not something recent (can be seen in comments on every TLoU II update on every forum). There's hardly any major story elements in the new trailer nor do we know if it contains the leaks that people didn't like (at least I didn't get anything out of the trailer; maybe people who looked into the spoilers pieced together some parts of the story). If it was all about the story and leaks, then what was up with people who were crying conspiracies and political agenda before all this? The full story will be out in little over a month. How does it make sense to judge it before that? (Although any story will be hated by some people anyway, but that would make some sense after the game is out)

Also, let's just ignore all the comments on IGN and Gamespot videos that parrot the same political/feminist/lesbian agenda thing. :p White incels and Pakistani men are the easiest to trigger by things they have no understanding of.

So political/feminist/lesbian agenda, triggered, white incels, Pakistanis, basically everyone who dislikes it can be labeled as one or the other but people are not allowed to simply dislike it. Gotcha (y)

Nobody said that but okay. Many of those labels come from the triggered lot itself (one can find them in their comments). They can say whatever they want (and they've been doing that freely), others can call them out for being clueless or being a jerk (if they want to talk about politics instead of the game without having any idea about it). Or, how about criticizing a game for game related factors, you know, like we do with literally every game except this one? I don't mind the ongoing story criticism - just saying that it is premature (hence likely inaccurate) because we have a fragmented picture of the story at this point.

I'd dislike it too if I only had access to a gaming PC or an Xbox :hah:

How does "a lot of people" disliking the trailer on Youtube translate into the bottom line i.e. sales? If Amazon stats are any indication, it's still expected to sell really well *in b4 no competition in June* lol.

Well multiple Call of Duty games have outsold everything Naughty Dog has made on PS4 alone so I'm not sure if playing the sales card works out that well for it :hah:
