I have read on nearly all of the forums, that CS GO is a cpu heavy game, not a GPU heavy game.
I am starting to build a pc, but also want to play cs go at more than 150 fps...do you guys have any experience in that regard..
CS GO guys might be able to post their FPS and computer configs so we can compare some data.

see this is the issue...no one knows why the game runs so smooth on some pc and weak on others..
i.e you have a core i7, your should be getting close to 150 fps..

@NaNoW: i m sure ur plan includes a 120Hz monitor becoz a normal 60Hz will give u tons of screen tearing.
yeah already have one !:wink2:

There you go Bro

And I suggest a Quad core CPU (4 cores) for Online Gaming . Because in online gaming we run a lots of Applications in the Background Such as : Steam , teamspeak 3 , Teamviewer , utorrents etc . With a quadcore CPU and Good GPU You can experiance a smoother gameplay . 2 cores are fine too if you don't run heavy (multi-threaded) Apps in the background . And about laggy experiance on core i7 i think his System is Unbalanced for more clarification i can say that Pentium G processor with a middle fast GPU can run CSGO at high Settings in 1280x720 resolutions if the system components match each other perfectly .
:soh:

Thanks for reading my full of s**t Post :p .

And 60 hertz in gaming is fine hertz don't matter a lot but the Response time of LCD or CRT monitor or any other type of display device should be less than 6 ms and above 8ms you will experience weird white trails behind the moving objects especially when playing games At high FPS .

Yes, but not for today's processors though. In fact, all Source engine-based games are not GPU-bound.

A low-mid-end system can do that without breaking the bank.

Sure, here's the output of my fraps.txt file after 60 second run:
Code:
2014-08-04 22:58:34 - csgo
Frames: 15989 - Time: 104891ms - Avg: 152.434 - Min: 78 - Max: 198
This was done on a 16 player/180ms+ server running de_dust2 vanilla map, everything was set to their maximums except MSAA (which I keep at 4x) at 1920x1080/60Hz (I chose the default map because CS tends to give better fps on non-standard maps; see all deagle maps in CS:S for example).
During that period I went through some GPU-intensive scenarios as well (like below) if that helps:

My specs are not that high either, a 2nd generation i3-2100, 8gigs of RAM, and a HD 7850 2GB that's clocked at 1GHz speeds/memory at default i.e. 5400MHz. I also have an SSD as well, if that helps, but my games are installed on a 7200RPM HDD. As for software,
Windows ver. 8.1.1 x64, Intel INF ver. 10.0.13, Intel RST ver. 12.9.0.1001, and lastly Catalyst 14.4 (13.251) video drivers were used. :)

Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.
The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

Welp, done with Hellblade 2. Thoroughly disappointed. Such a nothing burger after the unique experience of the first game.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
