All Split A/Cs Suck Ass compared to a Windows ACs Might!

LIFESPAN, COLDNESS, DURABILTY AND PERFORMANCE.

A window AC ticks all those options like a baws. It's a shame they have gone out of fashion because when it comes to the four factors that you describe, no split AC can hold a candle in front of them.

I have two PEL window-type AC's at home. They've been around since the mid 80's and have been running as good as ever.

Window AC cooling has no comparison with any split AC and that's the reality.
General window AC are rock solid in performance.
I remember brought National 1.5 tons window AC in 1998 and it has no comparison at all in terms of cooling. It starts from where split cooling ends I must say but its damn expensive in terms of electricity so I kept it stored and didn't sold as I know its worth.
Not now even available. Hope ill get it installed again if electricity prices gets lowered some how.......

Yes. If electricity billing's not an issue, always choose a window-type AC.

I miss my haier (made in japan) 1.5 ton window AC
Even though i run my pel 16 thermostat. That thing was bizarre
Power consumption was around 2 amps higher than current split for same ton/btu on high settings
Sold that in 2010

Windows ACs lasts longer than split, and they can go over 2 season without seasonal wash.. But you have to find one with American compressor inside only those are reliable, new with bottle type of compressors doesn't work well enough
