[h=1]Terminator 6 Casts Gabriel Luna as New Terminator[/h]

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD actor Gabriel Luna will play the new Terminator in Terminator 6, the franchise reboot produced by James Cameron and directed by Deadpool’s Tim Miller. After 2015 flop Terminator Genisys failed to revitalize the decades-old Terminator franchise, producers opted for a new reboot that ignores everything after Teminator 2: Judgment Day. Set in Mexico City, the new film reportedly follows a street-smart character named Dani Ramos who finds herself being stalked by a new Terminator.
James Cameron reportedly is undertaking an extensive search to find the right actress to play Dani Ramos. Tully star Mackenzie Davis herself recently climbed aboard Terminator 6 to play a soldier-assassin on a special mission (her character description is reminiscent of the Kyle Reese character originated by Michael Biehn in the first Terminator). Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton return as the T-800 and Sarah Connor respectively, acting as a bridge between the original films and the new movie.

As reported by Deadline, Gabriel Luna has now joined the Terminator 6 cast in the role of the new Terminator who menaces Dani Ramos. The same report confirms Natalia Reyes and Diego Boneta also join the cast in unspecified roles. Boneta’s involvement was previously reported.

New Terminator Gabriel Luna is best known for playing Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD (it’s a version of the character Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance film director Brian Taylor doesn’t particularly care for). Luna also starred on the El Rey Network series Matador, and on season 2 of HBO’s True Detective. His film work has mainly come in smaller films, including the thriller Transpecos, the horror-comedy Gravy and the biographical drama Freeheld with Julianne Moore and Steve Carell.
When Arnold Schwarzenegger played the Terminator in the 1984 James Cameron original, the performance catapulted him to a new level of stardom. Of course, Schwarzenegger had limited acting ability at the time, a fact that in some ways made for a more convincingly robotic and menacing performance. Gabriel Luna comes to the table with a lot more acting experience than Schwarzenegger could boast when he took the part. So we can look for Luna’s portrayal of the Terminator to have a lot more nuance than Schwarzenegger’s. The new movie’s setting switch to Mexico City should make for an interesting vibe overall.
All the hints we’ve received thus far about plot and character for Terminator 6 suggest it will likely be an almost beat-for-beat remake of the original Terminator. After the complete debacle that was Terminator Genisys, returning to the franchise’s roots for a more straight-forward action movie about a cyborg stalking a scrappy heroine probably is the smartest move anyone could’ve made. All that remains for Terminator 6 now is to cast the key role of Dani Ramos, aka the new Sarah Connor. The film reportedly goes before cameras beginning in May.

[h=1]Terminator 6 Adds Young Schwarzenegger T-800 Actor[/h]

Tim Miller’s Terminator has cast actor Brett Azar in an undisclosed role. Terminator marks creator James Cameron first return to the series since Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Cameron turned down the chance to return for previous sequels since he felt the story had been wrapped up effectively with the second movie, and he wanted to work on new projects. However, when the franchise rights reverted back to him after 30 years, he decided a new movie commenting on the huge advances in technology and artificial intelligence in the years since could make for a ripe update.
Cameron hired Tim Miller (Deadpool) to direct the new movie, which will simply be called Terminator. Concrete plot details have yet to emerge, though its known both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton will reprise their iconic roles from the original movies, alongside a cast of newcomers that includes Mackenzie Davis and Gabriel Luna. Cameron will produce the movie and has confirmed it will ignore Terminators 3-5 and will act as the true third instalment.

One of the few memorable moments from previous sequel Terminator: Genisys was the sequence where an older T-800 fights his younger self during the timeline of the original movie. Brett Azar played the young T-800 in Genisys for this battle, with CGI being used to complete his transformation into Arnold Schwarzenegger circa 1984. Azar has now taken to his Facebook profile (via The Terminator Fans) to confirm he’s coming back for the next entry too.

While Azar doesn’t state what role he’ll play in Terminator, it’s safe to assume he’ll either be doubling for young Schwarzenegger again or playing a new Terminator model. If he is playing a de-aged Arnold once again, that may indicate more time-travel hijinks or some kind of flashback sequence. Miller has previously stated the sequel will be embracing Arnold’s age instead of trying to hide it, so the character won’t be de-aged for the entire movie.
The team behind Terminator are saying all the right things so far to get scoured fans back onboard. The last 3 movies in the saga have been disappointing in various ways, and its doubtful anyone will really mourn their banishment to alternate timelines. That said, its risky for Cameron himself to revisit what many feel is his crowning achievement as a filmmaker, so hopefully whatever he has in store for the new trilogy can live up to the legacy of the series.

[h=1]Linda Hamilton Is Ready To Be Sarah Connor Again In Terminator 6[/h]

A photo has emerged to give fans their first look at Linda Hamilton's appearance for Terminator 6. The Terminator franchise has suffered mixed fortunes in the years since 1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Rights issues saw the third movie delayed for 12 years, and while Rise Of The Machines had some nice action setpieces and a surprisingly dark ending, it felt like a lukewarm remake of the second movie.
McG's Terminator: Salvation took place during the Future War, but despite featuring Christian Bale in the lead role the movie proved to be surprisingly dull. Arnold Schwarzenegger returned to the series after sitting out the 4th movie for 2015's Terminator Genisys, and while the movie returned a profit it suffered terrible reviews and is seen by many as the nadir of the series. The rights to the series have since reverted back to creator James Cameron, who is overseeing a planned new trilogy that will ignore the events of 3-5, in addition to bringing back Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor.

Tim Miller (Deadpool) will direct the new entry, which will deal will modern fears about A.I.s and drone warfare. Linda Hamilton has been training hard to get into shape for the movie, and a new photo from Linda Hamilton Fans (via The Terminator Fans) gives a first look at Sarah Connor's appearance in the next entry.

The critical and fan response to Terminator Genisys seemed to suggest audiences were weary with the series, and that it might be time to retire it. The new movie seems to be working hard to convince fans there's still life left in the iconic sci-fi franchise, and Cameron has claimed it will act as the true third movie. It's also exciting to have Hamilton back for the first time since Terminator 2, with the actress having previously turned down the third movie after taking a dislike to the script.
Emilia Clarke played a younger version of the character in Terminator Genisys, and had things gone to plan, she would have reprised the role for two further sequels. The actress has recently commented on the reception to the movie, stating the production was such a mess that she was 'relieved' when the movie underperformed and she didn't have to return for more. Co-star Jason Clarke has also stated the planned sequel would have explored the cyborg version of John Connor further.

[h=1]Terminator 6 Moves to Wonder Woman 2's Former Release Date[/h]

Paramount Pictures has moved Terminator 6 up to Wonder Woman 1984's now-former release date at the beginning of November 2019. Warner Bros. only just moved its Wonder Woman sequel back to 2020 yesterday and even had Diana of Themyscira herself, Gal Gadot, announce the news online. This isn't the first date change for the latest Terminator movie either; Paramount had originally scheduled the film to hit theaters in July 2019, before it pushed it back from a summer to fall premiere that same year.
The as-yet untitled Terminator 6 is being directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool) and will serve as a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Similar to David Gordon Green's Halloween (which is currently in theaters), Miller's film aims to clean up its franchise's convoluted mythology by essentially ignoring the events of the not-so-adored sequels before it (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvationand Terminator Genisys) and further expanding upon what are generally agreed to be the series' best entries so far. As such, Terminator 1 & 2 leads Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger are returning for the movie, with Hamilton specifically playing an older version of her iconic character Sarah Connor.

Paramount has decided to bump Terminator 6 up from its previous November 15, 2019 spot to the November 1 slot that Wonder Woman 1984 only just vacated yesterday. That means the film will now face-off directly at the box office with theCharlie's Angels reboot, which Sony likewise moved to November this week, in response to Wonder Woman 1984's delay.

While it's certainly possible that either Terminator 6 or Charlie's Angels will end up moving (again) over the year to come, there's also a reasonable chance that both movies will stay put where they are now. Miller's Terminator sequel is expected to return the franchise to its R-rated roots (after Salvation and Genisys earned PG-13 ratings) and, thus, will be aiming for a slightly older demographic than the Elizabeth Banks-directed Charlie's Angels reboot, which is expected to earn a PG-13 itself. Moreover, as bankable as both the Terminator and Charlie's Angels brands still are, neither one is as untouchable as they once were and need not worry about being buried at the box office by the other.

At the moment, Terminator 6 and Charlie's Angels are the only films set to arrive at the very beginning of November 2019. The rest of that month is relatively full at the moment, with
Sonic the Hedgehog and Kingsman 3 set to open a week after the newTerminator movie, followed by Disney's Frozen 2 two and a half weeks after that. That's (arguably) all the more reason for Terminator 6 and Charlie's Angels to simply stay exactly where they are now and get next year's November box office started with (hopefully) a bang.

[h=1]Edward Furlong Is Back As John Connor in Terminator: Dark Fate[/h]

During Terminator: Dark Fate's panel in Comic-Con's Hall H, producer James Cameron reveals that Edward Furlong will return as John Connor. Furlong memorably originated the role in 1991's sci-fi/action classic Terminator 2: Judgment Day, playing a teenage version of humanity's future savior. Over the course of the film, John ended up bonding with the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) that had been sent back in time to protect him, which made it all the more sad when he and mother Sarah (Linda Hamilton) had to lower him into a vat of molten steel in order to prevent the rise of Skynet.
Of course, 2003's Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines established that the Connors hadn't succeeded in preventing judgment day, and had only postponed it. Well, that's all out the window now, as Terminator: Dark Fateserves as a sequel to the only the first two films, and not any of the James Cameron-less follow-ups. While Skynet's ascendance as we knew it seemingly didn't happen, the machines still eventually rose, and have sent a new highly advanced Terminator (Gabriel Luna) back to take out an important human named Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes).

Up until now, it appeared that John Connor wouldn't be a character inTerminator: Dark Fate, outside of as a kid in flashback scenes to Terminator 2.Now, Cameron himself confirmed in Hall H at SDCC that Furlong will reprise the role for the first time in director Tim Miller's film.

Unfortunately, Cameron didn't expand on what Furlong will actually be doing as John in the film, and neither has anyone else at the panel so far. One assumes the obvious answer would be playing John as an adult, although Furlong has had lots of personal struggles over the years that have left him looking very much unlike the cocky kid that loved Guns 'N Roses in 1991, even aside from the normal changes brought upon by aging. That said, it's not impossible to believe that the offer to appear in another blockbuster might have inspired Furlong to get in John Connor shape for the role.

Whatever Furlong's John Connor ends up doing, one hopes he'll get to share the screen with Hamilton, as seeing the onscreen mother and son interact once again would be sure to delight those who grew up with Terminator 2. The same could be said for a potential interaction between Furlong and Schwarzenegger. For now, we'll just have to wait until more info on Furlong's role in Terminator: Dark Fate
surfaces. Until then, hasta la vista, baby.
