Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Comes With Free Membership In The WTF
Yes, just by buying Tekken Tag Tournament 2, you'll gain free access to the World Tekken Federation.
So what is the WTF?
It's essentially an online service where you can link your console account. It collects stats and achievements, updating them in real time; allows you to join, create, and manage teams; and strategize with those teams.
There may also be other goodies involved, but Namco is keeping those quiet for now. This seems largely designed for the fighting game community to get more involved with the game and to help arrange tournaments both online and off.
Our Take: Along with Call of Duty Elite, ResidentEvil.Net, Battlefield 3 Premium and a whole bunch we're probably missing, we're not really sure gamers need yet another social network tied to one specific game. It's good for the hardcore player but it seems like anybody who just wants to get in some fights and listen to Snoop Dogg's track will be a bit baffled over what to do with this.
That said, we will give them credit for what's got to be a deliberate choice of acronym. That made us laugh a little harder than it should have.
