Russian warships cross Bosphorus, en route to Syria

now this is something .... WWIII im afraid.
Not quite. If you listen to international news, you'll hear that Putin has softened his stance a bit now. Whereas before he was saying that Al-Assad is the rightful representative of the Syrian people and that a military strike was unacceptable at any cost, now he's saying that he doesn't "support Al-Assad" but will only approve of military intervention if the UN can prove that the government carried out the chemical attack. For weeks now, the Saudis have been trying to negotiate with the Russians to strike a deal that would make them relinquish their support for Syria; I guess they've succeeded.

Our Nuclear Arsenal is primarily a deterrent against India and our Military might can and will take India head on no doubt about that
But USA is a different beast and it will be foolish to assume that we can handle a war with them. Also our Internal problems and crumbling economy doesnt do us any favors

If USA attacks Syria it could result in World War 3 and it is in Pakistan's best interest to sit back and be a silent spectator

PS: How in the hell can anyone possibly claim JF17 to be superior to F16 (lmao)
except it is , and its also undetectable

- - - Updated - - -

^^Why compare JF 17 to F 16 lol If you wanna fight America you'll be pitting JF 17s against F-22 Raptors. They'll all be destroyed before they can even take off. All 150 of them

But seriously let's not talk about war here. if shit does hit the fan in the near future, like hasan said it'd be better to just sit back and watch.
we have undetectable stealth crafts and 12 diff kind of unmanned war machines made with china

my final thought , some of you are brain washed victims of the 4th gen war and are kiss ups to usa , peace im out of this thread before you start flaming me

Sorry, if you think that our military is any match against the US military then you're sadly deluded. And that's if you ignore the unprecedented economic, social and law and order crisis within our country, which only further adds to our vulnerability. You have absolutely NOTHING that can even land so much as a 9mm pistol bullet anywhere near US soil. Even if your military is a credible match, you can only repulse an attack for so long before your meager economic resources run out and you basically have no food to feed your soldiers and population with and no fuel to run your tanks/ships/aircrafts with. And without the ability to actually strike back on the enemy's homeland and put them on the defensive, it's basically only a matter of time before you go down.

The US will never attack Pakistan unless its World War Z, not because they can't crush us but because of CHINA. The Chinese aren't friendly with us just because they like our mangoes. It's in their interest as well. They will never let the US take control of our country (officially) and establish a full base here. China will come to Pak's defence and as we all know, they have plenty of stuff that can go across a continent or two :)

I don't know if this is common knowledge or not but.. During that crisis and tension with India after the Mumbai bombings and that whole deal, a certain foreign country's air force patrolled our air space :) Guess who? :p (Hint: Not China)

We can always apply for another loan from IMF to fight a war...

US wont attack Pakistan but reason may not be China. When its about International relations, nothing is more sacred than self interests. Why would China even think of fighting a war on behalf of Pakistan with US? India wants its hegemony in the South Asian region which China doesn't want so its a different story.
Given the facts that,
1. The kind of resources America has to offer, our leaders wont hesitate to sell their own mothers, as stated once by an American prosecutor. Aimal Kansi and Afia Siddiqui are two examples brought into daylight. What happened to Raymond Davis may still be in the minds of many if not all.
2. We are their ally, a friend no matter how big the trust deficit is. Considering the relations between India and Russia, US will always need Pakistan in the region as we can always be useful. John Kerry's recent visit and the kind of recognition Pakistan received from American officials for bringing Taliban on negotiation table are a blatant reminder that we still have a role to play in order to streamline American interventions in the region.

We cannot make attacks on US homeland while the US can bomb each and every area of our country which is the biggest handicap we have against them

As for JF-17 Thunder this aircraft is aimed at replacing our outdated Mirage Fighters and serve as the back bone of our Airforce
However F-16 remains our primary Air Superiority Fighter significantly ahead of the JF-17

Taking about the F-22 Raptor well no one can match that aircraft
No matter if u have the best dog fighting pilots in the world u cannot take on a Super Sonic Stealth Aircraft with Beyond Visual Range Missiles

i think you have to update yourself a bit ...

[h=2]US president makes case for strikes against regime targets, as Putin says Russia "will help" Assad if action launched.[/h]

prime example of being brainwashed .

this is a different era my friend , a country with zero technological know how like Afghanistan has given usa the run for its money in its quest to control Afghanistan , what makes you think they can last very long against us . the final verdict is that neither Pakistan or usa will last very long

OP is not brainwashed.

You don't have a clue of what you are talking about. Afghanistan never gave USA a run for its money.

US forces:-

1. Successfully invaded Afghanistan
2. Ousted Taliban from power and destroyed much of its professional fighting capability
3. Installed a puppet government
4. Developed ANF
5. Disrupted Al-Qaeda network in Afghanistan and Pakistan, took out OBL (primary objective)
6. Fueled ideological divide in Afghanistan

Taliban is an ideology, it can be contained but not eradicated unless populace of Afghanistan is wiped out which isn't an objective of US. Fact is that Taliban have lost much of its professional fighting capability in this war and have resorted to "terrorist attacks" to discourage people from siding with US. This happens in Pakistan too.

A professional military force is designed to fight another professional military force, occupy a nation and maintain occupation until called off. Combating an ideological movement is a different cup of tea and this becomes an expensive task for a professional military force. Solution is to create an ideological divide within an occupied nation which US seems to have done. In the end, US will leave Afghanistan but the latter nation will continue to suffer in the aftermath due to ideological divide in it which is the real tragedy.

In history, US have defeated several powerful nations in wars so it makes no sense to underestimate it. Afghan mission proves nothing.

Do you know that F-16 have been improved with passage of time? How many models of F-16 exist?

As an example: F-16 E/F series > F-16 C/D series > F-16 A/B series

In addition, their are series-wise revisions, referred in blocks.

JF17 is not designed to replace or outdo F-16. It is designed to bring the remainder of PAF close to F-16 standards.

By the way, here is a brief comparison of specs:

Most advanced aircraft in PAF inventory at the moment are F-16 C/D series aircraft. For PAF, these aircraft represent frontline defense/offense options.
