Career consultancy is just a brilliant excuse to waste money IMO. Pretty much everything you need to know about every uni is available online.

The campus at Taylor's is really cool, you should look it up. My friend is staying at his own place so I can't really tell you much about Taylor's accommodation though but I'm sure they're pretty high standard too. Mixed variety of people, a lot of people from Mauritius, Iran, Chine and India. The teachers are good, many of them internationals themselves. Subang Jaya itself is a beautiful place, you'll really enjoy your stay.
I myself am waiting for my student visa to arrive so I can depart. Any day now :mushy:

These private universities were way too expensive for me. I'll be going to SEGi University, they have a dual degree program, handing out one degree of their own and another from University of Abertay Dundee. It's costing me 5.5lakhs with scholarship and it's about 7lakhs without scholarship per year. They have a partnership with University of Sheffield too if you're looking for engineering though I don't think it has a software engineering course.

Also, don't worry about Pakistani people. You'll find them. Remember, this is supposed to be a new experience for you. You won't be manifesting the most out of your experience in Malaysia if you try to locate yourself only around Pakistanis. Socialise and interact with different people. :)

The problem is that some people just dont want to sit down and search for things...they want the easy way out so for those people consultants are the best option

The issue is that they can't really be relied upon for honest, unbiased counsel either. Many of the lower-ranked unis give commission to these consultancy firms if they manage to send good students their way, so you might end up in a uni which, according to them was really good but in reality is not.

I have found Canadian universities that are best for computer science Masters and also have not a high level of requirements. But I am not able to figure out the USA universities in this matter. I have search Google alot but there is nothing that comes forward to which I can actually look into. All universities that comes in search are those having higher requirements and that are well known but I also need a lost of few universities that are middle level :) (like in Canada University of concordia or University of Regina)

Yes, you need SAT for the US.
No. SAT doesn't guarantee a damn thing. Unless you're talking about some local universities like SZABIST, you don't have to give the test if you have a certain SAT score, yes.

What score in SAT we can say is good enough for a well reputated university?

They say the 2k mark is a good score but, really, there is no measurement. Sometimes people with higher satscores get rejected and those with lower ones get admitted. That's the thing with applying to US universities, luck plays a MAJOR role.

So for UK universities you HAVE to apply through UCAS? I've been going through the website of the Uni i want to apply to and it says no such thing, like there is an online form for the uni along with which I have to send/email the relevant documents and the rest is upto them. Is there a loop hole or something that I am missing?
