So Iam about to buy a new laptop today but basically Iam confused on which one to buy. Here are my options:

Sony vaio EA15 with corei3 2.13ghz 4 gbram and 320gb HD with Atiradeon 512mb grphxcard.
Sony Vaio CW16 with core2duo 2.53ghz with 4gbram and 320gb HD with Nvidia 230m grphxcard.
Sony Vaio Eb26.Specs not known.
Apple macbook 13.3inch with core2duo 2.4ghz nd 2gb ram with 250gbHDD and nvidia 310m.

The first 3 have 3 years warranty on them. The first is for 96k,2nd for 90k and third also for 96k.Macbook is for 1 lac.The second one is only available in displayed unit(the one on display at sony centre)but all accessories box and 3 years warranty are applicible.

My basic needs are gaming, watching movies, downloading torrents, and writingpdf documents.I need o e which will stand the test of time in reliability. Also Iam not a hardcore gamer,I like to play games like Mordernwarfare2 etc.Iam confused between corei3 2.13ghz and core2duo 2.53ghz

Core i3 one would be best for you but I must tell you that while Sony is good, their products are way overpriced than many other brand's laptops. I have seen many laptops with similar configuration selling for as low as 70K. Or if you can get one from Canada (or America), it'll be awesome for you because you can get a laptop like this in less than 60K from there, but the problem of local warranty will be too much for it :(

Well I have had a bad experience with HP.Sony is the only one which gives 3 years warranty, which I need.I can get it ordered from abroad but then no warranty support here.corei3 has a lower clock speed, would it still be worth it?

I3 would be worth it. But remember, that HP is getting worse day by day. They have a fault in their motherboards. Most of the HP laptops which one can get from America/Canada will be of poor quality.

The abovementioned VAIOs are wayy overpriced since you can get an i5 based lappy in much less here. Similarly spec'ed i3s HP and Dell lappys go for around 60k.

About HP, Ive personally seen 2 HP C2D-based laptops having over-heating issues. They shut down after around 20-30 mins of usage.

If you absolutely had to choose from the 4 laptops mentioned above, go with the i3 VAIO since its only 6000 more than the C2D.

Get a DELL N5010. Core i5 450, 3GB DDR3, 320gb and ATI 5470... It would cost around 68000 pak rupee and around $580.

I recently bought a dell inspiron 1564 with core i3 330m, 4gb DDR3 ram, 500gig hdd and ATI mobile hd 5450 for the equivalent of Rs. 64000 and i'm loving it. compared to that Sony vaios are really overpriced and not worth the money. However in my experience you can't go wrong with the Macbook, it may be expensive but you get full bang for your buck, the battery life astronomically better than all other laptops and it is way more reliable.

Dell, Toshiba, Asus and MSI and the only good choices, also check Lenovo but I don't know if they have any worthy offerings, Gateway is good too but there MIGHT be some build issues.

and MW2 won't run at high on HD 5450/5470, heck not even at medium.

I wouldn't use a laptop for gaming, he wants it for everyday use and the 5450 handles hd video playback really well.

Dude my friend has been using his HP for extreme gaming sessions and it never caused any problem. Just because a few people experienced issues with a particular model doesn't mean you bash HP.

^what part of the world u r living mate. HP are crap,.. seriously they've over heating & display issues ... on 2 different occasion my mates tried for a replacement thing but slack HP customer care didn't do anything ... so in the end he had to buy Toshiba Satellite 16" Notebook and he's happy with it. By the way guy mentioned 4 lappys and ppl are suggesting Dell .. thats not what he said. No matter what go for Sony Vaio and if u r really into Mac applications go for Mac laptop. simple is that.

Exactly what I was talking about in one of my earlier posts. A similarly spec'd i5 goes for around 10k more.

Almost all new HPs have been having over heating issues and the internetz are full of people having this issue. Check Newegg for some reviews, or google it up.

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
