Sony Ericsson W910i Help !

Ok so yesterday i got my SE W910i which i really like But the problem is that whenever i try to download some Java Softwares from Mobile9 which are in the Jar Format and i transfer the files to my Mobile in the "Others Folder" it asks me to install Application and after i agree to install it it gives me the Error "Operation Failed". I have tried many Application like these and get the same error. I have searched on Google aswell and everyone faces the same problem with this Phone. Does Anyone know the Solution to this?

You have your answer, go to the shopkeeper and tell him to flash the firmware

Try Switching on off ur mobile than try if it doesnt work than the only choic is Flash the firmware

yea its just some doftware missing, something related to java for phone's, runtime environment etc.. flashing a phone's firmware should just be your last resort, it can mess it up too if while flashing the light goes down or something. try everything that you can and then if no solution found give flashing a try.

the problem usually occurs when people connect their SE phones to pc and then disconnect it improperly

i can tell u some possible solutions..see which one works out for u

1. Try reinstalling the Jar file again..this worked for me a couple of times
2. Try a master reset and then install the file again (u may loose ur data with it but the problem may still persist)
3. Instead of goin to a shop and asking for firmware flash .. update it ur self with se update utility availalbe online..make sure ur internet doesnt get dcd while updating or ur electricity wont go out..u may loose ur fone that way but the problem is more likely to be solved..

You might also want to take the Memory Card out of the phone. Backup the data, then format the card using a Card Reader or another SE phone. Put the data back in the card, Master Reset the phone, insert the card and try installing again.....

Any links on how to update the firmware without messing up my Mobile would be apperciated

dont take risk to update software by yourself
because if light goes then ur fone will demage
if u have laptop then do it or ups
other wise go to shop keeper

Thats my Headache just tell me how to Update Firmware.
