AssalamAlaikum All. :)
I'm going for some upgrade so pls guide me right.
I've two options in my budget whether I should change my i3 2100 to i5 2500k or upgrade ram to 8gb from 2gb.
which will be the best upgrade ? for Games. & you can check my specs , if you've something diff in your mind you're welcome to share.

JazakAllah.

You'll see a bigger performance benefit from a processor upgrade.

But, seeing as you have 2GB RAM, you will also see a huge benefit in performance by merely upgrading your RAM to 4GB.

Anything above 4GB is overkill unless you're doing heavy video editing/rendering stuff using 64bit application on a 64bit OS.

How about adding another 2 GB kit & still upgrading to 2500k?
Though 2500k is a bigger investment & you can always buy another 2 GB module for about ~1800+-. So, if you can only upgrade to CPU or RAM than I would suggest going for CPU upgrade.

now ddr3 is dirt cheap(1.8k) u can alwayz add another stick

If you dont plan to OC then don't get the 2500K, get the normal non-K version.
Because if you do want to OC you will have to change your H67 board to P67.

Also, get another 2 GB or ram, dont bother with 8GB,

you got a H61 motherboard so getting core i5 2500k will be useless for you. if you want to upgrade then i suggest you to get 2gb more ram and core i5 2300 and that will be best upgrade for you at this time.

Yeah, just noticed OP's specs.

@OP
Go with what KMAT & sunny suggested.

no benefit of k with h61 h67...if u want to overclock then 1st get p67 board and then processor...or get simple 2500 or 2300 i5..and upgrade ram to 4gb

I like what sunny suggested above.

I would like to give the op another option. Buy i5 2300 for Rs. 15,600 and 1 stick of DDR3 4GB RAM for Rs. 4000. So for less than the price of i5 2500k you will have a quad core CPU and 6GB RAM!
