Shifting from 1 DSL to another?

Hi,
I am currently using Maxcom DSL but now i m thinking that i should get PTCL because Maxcom's rates are higher as compared to other DSL providers, and also because it gives may higher pings in gaming as compared to other DSl users.
My question is that how do i shift from 1 dsl to another? I first wanna try PTCL cuz i hv heard some issues with ptcl too so i m thinking that i'll keep maxcom and get another ptcl dsl on the same phone line, and if ptcl works fine then i'll get Maxcom removed. Is it possible to get 2 dsls on the same phone line? If it's not possible to use 2 dsls on the same phone line then how should i go about with replacing maxcom with ptcl? I m looking forward to get the 1 mbps student package so can u guys help me out and please also tell me which modem should i get?

P.S Will maxcom take the modem back or can i use ptcl dsl with my current modem(alcatel) too?

I think it is not possible to have 2 dsl's on a sole phone line.You have to have 2 lines for 2 different dsl connections.Second u asked how u can switch to ptcl is simple.....ask Max the company u are already using that u don't wanna use there service and they surely will have no hesitation to drop u out of their customer list.Then go to ptcl website and apply for student package.third i can't say anything about ur current modem that it will be used with ptcl or not....btw don't take Shiro modem from ptcl as mine died just after 15 days of usage and yesterday they gave me a new one of ZTE and it is working better than shiro.

Quick answer: hell no, you can't use two DSL services on a single phone line modem is not really a concern these days since nearly all companies giving a free modem with the connection, and no Maxcom won't take back your modem since you paid for it at the start..right?

hay guys shiro is not bad i am using shiro from 2 month's and working fine no probs ptcl offers that agr aap ne apna dsl 1 year ke bad hatwaya to wo modem aap ka ho jaye ga for Free

Thanks everyone and how much time do they take if i m applyin for the student package? And 1 more thing, which modem is the best that ptcl is currently offering so that i can ask them to get that modem...koi kehra shiro koi kehra zte :S

^ mostly it doesn't matter... all those modems are chinese made using same components, they are just stuck with a company label

^^^ not by much...if your service provider has limit you the bandwidth then you'll never get more than that.

guide Me, i mean the goods and bads of Wateen. their new broadband package sounds good, but does it have any drawbacks??? i'm looking for the 1MB connection.

yar i think u should go for ptcl and remove maxcom but there is a big problem with ptcl and that problem is their customer service.its the worst customer sercvice u can think of.i am not just saying it.i have experienced it.why dont u try linkdotnet.and shifting from one dsl to another is easy.you just call ptcl for a new connection and call maxcom for the removal of u r existing dsl connection.the rest is there work

yeah I have to agree with hassan about PTCL's customer service. Their internet by itself is actually very good, I've used their 1mbps connection since they first launched DSL and its been very stable in terms of speed, very very few disconnections, and very nice ping values. However, customer service is where PTCL falters.

For one, having PTCLs DSL installed in the first place was a Abuses will lead to ban, and took quite a lot of time calling them, visiting them, and waiting for them when they didnt show up or showed up late and didnt have the courtesy to call. Now since the last 3 months I have had this problem where my 1mbps package hasn't been upgraded to a 2mbps package like it should have. I must've called them at least 100 times, every single time they tell me they need to upgrade my port and my problem will be solved within a day. 3 months later, nothing has been done. What the hell am I supposed to do in this situation?

Its really a shame though. They could hire more people and fix their customer care, but it seems they think its ok the way it is.
