According to Ary news Supreme Court has ordered Government to auction 3G licences.

^ I heard companies are working on 4G infrastructure rather on 3G which is now preety much outdated.

from what i have heard, the auctions will be for 3g and LTE spectrum, it will be upto carriers to either bring 3g first or move straight to LTE
whatever they do i wish for them to do it asap, we have had enough of GPRS and EDGE shit

finally. Someone had to get the PTA to sober up and do what it was supposed to do 2 years ago. i hope pk get 3g soon. Using EDGE this summer was a PITA

But why ? They are intruding into every relevant and irrelevant thing then why not this one ?
I believe 3G is not their domain either but they did it. So they should continue extending their unbounded jurisdiction.

I don't think so. SC can only uphold the constitution and law. Banning YouTube doesn't break any of those two.

I think I remember reading something about Telenor and Mobilink going to auction for 3G license, and this was 2 years ago I think.

I think the 3G thing was done because it was 'in the books' but not implemented. It has legal ramifications. Banning YouTube does not.
