For private organization as stated above, 15-20 however some well reputable and large scale organization offer handsome amount. I friend of mine was in master degree thesis and before he completed, he offered directly 35K by AirBlue here in islamabad. He was actually studying in Bahria University. Similar practices apply for BBA students. So its just an example of high standard universities, they have a different portal. Besides FAST university is well known for good plot in IT. but until or unless you don't have skill to work, you won't get any huge. remaining you luck matters the most.

good startups (IT) software houses offer 40k+ to fresh graduates but you need to have the market skills.

Karachi.
Computer science = 25-45 (personal experience)
Electrical = 23-50 (personal experience)
not sure about others.

Accept any shit pay at the start, get experience, then if you don't feel happy at that place, move somewhere else. You will definitely get better pay if your experience matches employer's expectations.

My two cents from the personal experience:

A freshie / student should not think much about the salary, all the big banks, multinationals and FMCGs pay less to the fresh graduate, a fresh person should focus on learning, building profile and experience only, once you able to build the profile (2-3 years) you will be able to find a better job with a good salary jump.

Why would companies pay you good amount of money while they are investing on your learning and development? anyway we hire fresh FAST/IBA graduates from 23K to 35K, depends on the candidate personal attributes.

Only software houses these days are paying good amount of money! (my observation only)

Some of the places I've given tests for are offering 52-60K for fresh Electrical grads. Problem is that out of the 230 people who graduated in this batch, each company only chooses 1-2 people :(...

Well, there are very few companies that pay 40k above to a fresh grad, and don't forget that there are thousands of applicants for each of those positions, so don't get your hopes up too high. Just keep in mind that a fresh graduate would get around 24k to 28k in the beginning in a good company.

You should focus on learning and gaining experience in the first 2 years at least. After that you can try to jump into a new company with a higher salary demand.

Switching jobs every two years would help in Salary growth.
