Yes, Thats the only difference between i5 & i7 until you dont Video Render, Multitask or Edit. For future proofing even if you take LGA 2011 Board & Processor you would have to sell it at one point after 2014 as Intel Broadwell Processor series will be launching soon and DDR 4 RAM and of course they will only be supported by New Motherboard.. Anyway I have already put your Internal Drive as SSHD, Its a Solid State Hard Drive. But if you want you can put Corsair Force 3GT SSD or you can save money and buy the next generation flagship of GPU's that are underway AMD 9000 series it announced they il be launching in October but there is no announcement from Nvidia though and as you are inclined to Nvidia bcos of there exclusive Physx & Cuda features I would suggest you can get a SSD now if you want.About Corsair Ram yes go for that either Vengeance or Dominator but if you dont Oc ur Ram Vengeance is better you can just open XMP and it will be enough.

Interesting, however the reason why I'm focused on the overkill aspect for the RAM is because as you mentioned Future proofing would be the main aspect. I will look into boards for supporting SLI or Crossfire (depending on which vendor I pick up the GPU from). The primary aspect that I'm focusing on is running games at maxed out specs in order to insure that I don't miss out on any of the fun!

Though I'm still wondering about the Gskill over the Crosair -_- I'm sorry if this is getting repetitive

So effectively a benefit would be incurred with mixing out a SSD with say 128+ GB to ensure faster boot time. Now with respect to the clock speed you mentioned between the CPU's is that the only difference between the two? If so, I'll go ahead and get the Core i5 and do a bit of tweaking (after hopefully going through about a gafflion posts and details, not one very familiar with OC) But if there are long term benefits to getting the Core i7 Haswell I'll look into that as well. As per the Cuda and Physx features, that's one of the reasons why I was kind of fixated over onto Nvidia.

As I mentioned in earlier posts I'm a big fan of the Arkham series and as far as I know it has a major layer of PhysX in use as well as DX11 Tesslation

It means that the current rig you have,will survive and give best possible performance in the future,and for that 8GB is more then enough....i think i myself am not explaining it very well.
And all good boards (costing more then 20K) will have sli and CF options which will also utilize all the GPU's fully. As i said,any board other then Intel will do,but Asus or Asrock will be the best performance and specss wise.
With these specs,it will run all games perfectly.

And as for the difference b/w i5 and i7,its the cores. I5 has 4 core,i7 has 8 ccores,double that. Now in games,usually 2 or max 4 cores are utilized so for just gaming,i5 will do but i7 will future proof you know,next gen is almost here,you never know how many core they use.
That is the main difference.

What GPU do you have? It utilizes the GPU more then the CPU so 3220 should be a problem at this point,depends on your gpu mostly.

Not much of difference really, besides the looks. Both have heatspreaders on them, neither comes with fan, both are rated at DDR3-1600, C9 @ 1.5v which is pretty standard these days. I'd get the Low Profile (LP) version of Vengeance, mainly because it won't have problems with tall CPU kuhlers. That said though, Value RAMs can also be considered if you're a savy.
