Ok, my morning stroll took me to IGN again and what do you know, we got progress reports on Fat Princess as well as something just as intriguing. Rag Doll Kung FO! and upto 4 player offline support, I think this is going to be an ultimate party game.

Rag Doll Kung Fu:

Nygren explained that Fists of Plastic was made to be as accessible as possible, while keeping in line with the original Rag Doll Kung Fu. The game allows up to four players to jump in to multi-tiered arenas and battle it out with a very Kung Fu-inspired battle system which has -- as you probably guessed -- rag doll physics. The Square and Triangle button will be used for normal punches and kicks, respectively, and there are a number of traditional combos you can execute with these button inputs. That's really just the beginning, however, as you can also jump around with X and block with the Circle button.

4 player offline beat'em up FTW:

Just for 10$ !!!
And April 9th, pretty close too.

I can't see myself playing any other party game after this shot:

I was really interested in this game when I saw it in E3 2008 Sony press conference. Looks like LBP Kung Fu.

eurogamer review:

While Fists of Plastic improves on its forebear in some areas, it also falls short in many others. There's no option to add a photograph of your own face to the characters via the PS Eye and the promised online multiplayer is nowhere to be seen. With the vastly simpler control scheme a lot of the original game's much vaunted scope for allowing players to develop their own fighting style has been stymied, the small set of stock moves making all-comers move and behave in similar ways. Indeed, the remake lends some credence to those tiresome PC proponents who are always accusing console titles of being poorer, dumber cousins to the one true home computing way.

6/10

hmm, if i remember correctly its a new version of Rag Doll Kung Fu made by Lionhead studios for pc a while back. I guess that explains the "LBP" artsyle because the same guy made both these games. The orignal was pretty medicore.

Alright, I got the game. It's friggin hilarious and I loved the light hearted comedy kung fu tunes.

Haven't played a lot but it's not meant to be a serious game by any means. This weekend, gonna give it a 4 player party treatment that i got it for and then probably cook up a review on Sunday.

Gamespot Review

Fists of Plastic is a joy to behold, but the gameplay doesn't deliver on the concept's promise nearly so successfully. At 10 bucks, the shallow combat, dearth of multiplayer modes, and complete lack of online options make this an experience that even most chopsocky fans will find quickly loses its charm.
Score: 5.5

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
