Within a few hours, the public beta version of Quake Live (formerly known as Quake Zero) is going to be made available today. Completely financed by in-game advertising, Quake Live is a free first-person shooter game, based on the popular Quake III Arena from id Software - playable through your browser. It is targeting mainly multiplayers, while the underlying game engine is id Tech 3. Expect the download to be about roughly 200 MB in size.

10000 people ? i waited in que for 20000 people and i was on my page in like 20 mins im on a 1mb connection but i think thats irrelevant dont worry 10000 people is nothing , the speed on this site is awesome

maybe the trfic on the server is too much just wait there a couple of mints and u will get the chance to play

Lag is too much right now on quake live 200+ hope they set up at least a server in asia which will make the game playable here also.
