[SOLVED] PTCL Packet loss High ping issue

Now I've been facing this pocket loss/slow browsing issue for 11 days now and I complained for the second time 2 days ago. Their response was that this issue was not on their end and according to them my internet is running perfectly. I now decided to just get connect as a lot of people are recommending it, one of them being @Blastwave. Now I just want to get some clarification on this issue to how exactly or what exactly is happening, apparently no other ptcl users are facing this issue so it's clearly not on their end. My Pc isn't infested with viruses or anything and I just reset my router yesterday to no avail. Could it be a cable fault in my area? @StrikerX

could be simply that the phone line to your house from the pole/distribution box is at fault here..

connect is great. if your dealer is good. my dealer sucks but in the end i have annoyed him enough for him to give me access to his system to do whatever i want.

for dota 2 i get 50 ms pings to dubai and india. around 80-100 on south east asia and 130-150 on eu

plus dodear is great and has tons of stuff. they didn't use to have english tv shows uploaded soon but now even those get uploaded the same day of release.

Hey, sad to hear that but you have to be persistent. I was also facing this issue for about two months, but then we stopped pressing 1 when you receive the automated call. They were forced to send the person, who did ookla speed test, thus deducing my ping was low and not high. I did the ping test which you do with cmd center then a lot of problems came to view and fixed. what speed connection do you have?

As long as there's copper involved in the system, you're in for a bad time (60% of the time it's correct every time).

Most probably it localized network congestion. Download a file in web browser from microsoft or downloaddotcom or any other website in US. Or stream something from twitch etc and keep note of the bytes received every second in connection properties (or use DU meter or some similar software). Do this in evening 6-9PM and after 3:00 AM. See if the browsing speed and packet loss is different during peak and off peak timing. The greedy thiefs at some PTCL exchanges have given a lot more connection in some specific areas then the max their ghissay pittay equipment can handle and that causes similar issues.

If it's like you said and my phone line is at fault then it doesn't matter if I change to connect, I will still face the issue would I not? And how would I get it fixed exactly? Who do I contact, is it ptcl's responsibility?

I have a 4mbps connection and honestly at this point I could care less about ptcl, I've had it with their shitty services and I'm definitely switching to connect now.

u wot m8? connect doesn't come through the phone line. they will install their own cat5 cable. beware this may mean( depending on your dealer) that you may not get services during power outages

on the cable changing side of the story and then i think it isnt worth the hassle to change the cable cause the problem might not be the cable. so then you'd be rekt

    You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
