I have already answered this question, check my reply above about CIR as well as about the portal. regarding the modem, I am using HUAWEI MT880

No big difference, it's just matter of choice but I did heard some good reviews about MT880 performance that's why I picked that up and so far it's working really great for me (it's easy to setup up port forwarding on it too).

and do u get routed thru a NAT (by ptcl) or u get ur own ipv4 or v6 ip...coz rapidshare/web site hosting etc need a direct ip (doesn need to be static tho)

(asking only bcoz rapidshare mostly says ur downloading even if ur not,,,juz wanted to kno if this happens with ptcl)

soo finally got my 1mb connetion from ptcl, no thanks to their serivce i got a 40 feet telephone line and got it connected to my pc in my room damn u ptcl nyways getting great speeds 110 on torrents etc... 1 gb in 3 hours now i can dld as many 360 games on my fingertips not to forget wii and psp and ds games

anybody got a Shiro Modem? it luks really good

perhaps better than Huawei MT882 and HG-510!

(ptcl is currently supplying huawei mt882, hg510, shiro dsl805eu and ZTE 831 series)

ZTE's modems' upstream is 1mbps and downstream is only 8mbps compared to huawei's and Shiro's 26Mbps

any feedback wud be appreciated coz im gonna have ptcl dsl soon, and i really hope zte na aye

My PTCL is acting wierd. Downloading at 6kb/s or less ... it was fine a while ago ... downloads good, playing CoD4 on MBL server.

I can play over there right now with no problems. Webcam streaming from states no problem. Downloads like ****, speedtest wont work. Ill try switching to the USB port. The downloads I did was using that, not Ethernet port.

And got hte Shiro modem, looks nice yea.

yup i got the shiro modem with ptcl logo aswell .... man that port forwarding sh*t and making torrents properly to work is damn work never had problem's with broadband..

My problem is supposed to be in the DSL Filter attached to the phone line.

I like the customer service. The came to connect in 2 days, called up in the morning at around 9am telling that they have solved the problem and will come anytime.

I never expected this from PTCL. Good service.

No PTCL logo on my modem though

PTCL provide the dynamic IP, so your rapidshare won't complain about that "Your IP is already in used" problem.
