Ptcl Evo 3G - Student Package

Hello people,
I am using Ptcl Broadband 1mb. 2 days ago i calculate total amount i am paying with tax is 1,122.
So then i came across with the information of Evo 3g Usb student package. The usb is around 3,000rs and per month is 1000. No hidden charges.
Today i went to Ptcl office near park tower. They said we havent sighned MOU with Iqra University. Although i am already using student package with my IU card. I was disappointed because since ptcl people were not listening. Anyways so one of my friend just told me that there are people in Ptcl who do this work separately and they can give you usb with same package and price.
I have searched on the internet and found many people doing this business. Now the question is that whether i should go for Ptcl Evo 3g student package? Does it have problems?? Should i trust some stranger dealer?? You people know any trustworthy dealer?
If some of you people using Evo 3g usb tell me your experiences...
ill really appreciate if you guys give me any suggestions...

I am using EVO 3G Doctor's Package here in Rawalpindi and I am more than satisfied with it :dance1:. It gives me around 200-300 kbps constantly and also i have signal strength of 99%. First do check the signal strength in your area it should be at least 60% (i.e. THREE BARS at least) to get good speeds.

No i am also using Evo 3G on student package and paying only 1k/month, but my signal strength is not very good its 60% and getting 280Kbps speed on non peak hours and its fluctuate a lot, i am switching back to PTCL DSL.

Check the signal strength at your place before purchasing a device

Haven't checked it there if you have V wireless phone and its getting good signal then Evo should get the same signal too

have you checked the list i think iqra is in the Student Package as far as i remember there are

But yaha ptcl walo ki renovation chal rai hai plus gharmi mein beithay they oper say rush... toh xiada sun nai rahay thay.. i dont blame him.. waki mein pura room bandh tha har jaga say no air. i couldnt even breathe. but ill see other locations of ptcl office and find out... plus Vptcl ka pata karta ho mein... thx alot bro

3g evo is great... u can get it from any one, doesnt matter. as far as signals are concerned, it usualy depends on area as well as there is a floor difference.. means if on ground floor there are 40 to 60% signals, then there must be 80 to 90% on 1st floor, i checked.

Just found out today that Student Package has 7GB usage limit per month ! I didnt know that and now My speed is capped at 22 KBps until the month expires !!

is there any link so that we can check the list of universities?? as i called them and they are saying only virtual university of Karachi is in student package and it is 1500/month not 1K please help bro.

Thanks for the info bro...the link shows only VU and it is correct as i called them and they said currently we are giving this offer for VU students only for Rs 1500/= unlimited not Rs-1000/= , but what about those who are students of other universities like me

it is 1000 per month on student package. PTCL (Directly) will not sell you this device, there are some PTCL Employees delivering student package activated USB at doorstep of the people. me and one of my friend also got one through a person he delivered it at our home and he also filled a PTCL Form. he will provide you one copy of it as well.

These are the Charges and other details:
1. You shall Pay 3000 to him to get USB (Breakup: 1000 Monthly 1000 CPE 1000 In His Pocket)
2. USB will be activated within 24 Hours - You don't need to do anything
3. PTCL will send you a Hard copy of the Bill at your doorstep and will send you a text over your phone each month between 4th to 10th of each month. you can also check your bill between the same dates at their website here: http://dbill.ptcl.net.pk/PTCLSearchInvoiceEVO.aspx
The Bill will be available only during these dates then it will be removed from the web.
4. After paying 3000 and activating USB the bill will be generated at next start of the month (between 4th to 10th) and the Amount will be Rs. 1000
5. Next month the bill will be generated at same date and the Amount will be Rs. 2000 (Breakup: 1000 Monthly 1000 CPE)
6. Again Next month the bill will be generated at same date and the Amount will be same as Rs. 2000 (Breakup: 1000 Monthly 1000 CPE)
7. Now on wards you shall pay only Rs. 1000 per month each month.

Total Cost of USB: 4000 after 25% Student Discount 3000 (Payable in Three Installments (1000+1000+1000)
Monthly Charges After 50% Student Discount: 1000

And Yes they Capped Student package (7 GB and after consuming 7 GB max 20 KB Speed for the rest of month) at the start of August but i called the person from whom i bought it he asked me to wait and told me that it has been reversed and the cap will be removed in a few days. he was right cap is no more it was removed within 2 days.
