^ yeah even i get that on the gaming lounge, even though there are no problems opening the ptcl website :S
working fine here also.
I am using Open DNS.

well, i am using open dns. Don't really know anything about ptcl dns. Instructions will be helpful.

they dont update their site, they dont add new stuff.... why do they actually do on this site?? NOTHING!!! so conclusion: its Crappiest PTCL entertainment portal.
it is not possible that u open PTCL portal on Open DNS...it is not possible at all...how come u can browse their service via other services..This is exclusive PTCL portal only avialable for PTCL subcribers...

DNS=Domain Name Service..this is actually change the web address into their respective IP addresses for faster browsing..every ISP has its own DNS servers so has the PTCL..actually the most recently,PTCL DNS servers got deluged and they went down due to which browsing slowed drastically while downloading continued normally...but now it is fixed..Open DNS is an alternative free service for this...
like PTCL DNS servers are:
203.99.163.240
203.99.163.243
just change DNS ip to any1 of these in your connection settings and u will be shifted to PTCL DNS...
click on the internet connection icon in the system tray and then edit the connections..U will find Gateway Addresses,Ip address and DNS SERVERS..all have their specific addresses..Change the address of DNS as i mentioned above..If u are on linuc hen i can give u the screenshots of this..
This site sucks. Last time I checked it had very low res movies (And OLD movies) Better to download of torrents.

bro... DNS is always Set in your Modem's settings. You dont need to set it individually. So if i said that I opened the website with open DNS, then i mean that DNS is already set in my modem whereas my windows (XP) have Automatic Settings.

what u are talking about...!!??u are trying to say that XP uses its own automatic DNS settings and Modem has its own settings....this is not possible..just recheck again..u will have same DNS in both of them..Do check it...and i guess u have DHCP turned on which means that u are having automatic settings coming from your ISP and obviously PTCL will send u its own DNS,not OPEN DNS ip's...turn-off automatic internet settings and then see..bro... DNS is set in Modem's settings so it XP detects the settings automatically. All i want to say here is that WE dont need to change the DNS into the windows, just set it in your modem & you will be fine.
