Processor Availability

Intel had released a new processor this year in Yorkfield-45nm series, the following:

Core 2 Quad Q9500 SLGZ4 (R0) 2833 MHz 2 × 3 MB 1333 MT/s 8.5× 0.85–1.3625 V 95 W LGA 775 January 17, 2010

Did this come to Pakistan or not? I need to buy one but can't seem to find it. I have checked with POP who are Intel Distributors, they don't have it.

Is there something any particular about this processor?

It is not available here Brother..It is very hard to find No matter in which corner of the World u are..The reason is that It is not a popular choice among Buyers As better alternatives are present in the market..U can easily go for a Q9400 & OC it Yourself!.

^ and was thinking the price would be lower but from the looks of things, doesn't seem to be.

True and well, Intel has released i3/i5/i7, I am not able to find many Quad cores even on sites abroad, other than e-bay. Galaxy has Q9400 listed for 17400 Rupees. This price is right or it would be lower in local markets with some shops? POP (Pakistan Office Products) is Intel's distributor and their Peshawar branch deals with walk-in customers/retail but they have for some reason got Q8400 only. It would be available with some other shops but they won't be giving me full 3 years warranty.

I would suggest u to take a complete market survey before buying anything!

^^ Bro Afaq is using Pentium Dual Core E6300 i.e 2.8GHz 2M Wolfdale CPU with 800MHz FSB based on 45nm micro architecture

& he said Core 2 Duo E6300 which is 1.86GHz Processor with 2M of cache 1066MHz of FSB based on 65nm micro architecture

Pentium Dual core E6300 is hell alot faster than C2D E6300

Mine isn't this one, as I said mine is ancient E6300, the Conroe model running at 1.86 Ghz by default. However I need something better now for encoding stuff + I am afraid LGA775 platform will be buried and won't be able to find a descent in warranty processor then. I do not get the move by Intel though, sure they introduced new stuff but given the price of i3 etc., how are they going to compete AMD? Removing dual cores and adding Quad/Three cores instead would have been better I think.

Edit: ahsanshah above has already pointed the difference out.

Oh sorry i messed up with c2d and dualcore
For encoding u can use gpu for that
Or get any quad if u can switch platform u have more choices

    170 + countries where Steam sells but PSN doesn't will lose access unless they use VPN

    You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
