Well my budget is Rs.35,000

my current system is


Intel D945 GCNL
Intel Dual Core 1.6 800mhz
MSI NX8800GT 512 DDR3
Corssair 2GB 667 mhz
Seagate Sata 200GB
Philips 107 E5 (Moniter)
Creative T6100

Well on one hand i really liked to buy Samsung T220 or T240

and on the other hand i liked Asus Maximus II Formula .....

so help me give me suggestion guys.

Don;t go for asus maximus formula. It will cost 21000 rs.

Wait a bit and intels quad cores will drop in price.

Get an ASUS board with an intel quad core.

that will make round 25000 rs.

Get corsair ram, ddr 2 or 3.

Your graphic card is fine.

THis will max performance for your computer for some time to come.

LCD should be the last thing. First u need a rig that can handle resolutions.

so youll have like 3000 rs left of the 35000. with a spare processor and mobo and ram which u could sell and get a 17 inch lcd

BTW dont go for sli or crossfire. It is not worth it.

ok thnx. buddy... well as i have consulted gaming forums.... ppl said quad core is not much for gaming.... i am looking for C2D E8500? so you are talking about Asus Rampage Formula costing me like 25000 or you are talking about a board that can support quad core.. i have liked two Asus P5QC and P5QE.... what do you think ... and do think better gamming board company then asus? no dont worry i wont go for SLI... if i had that kinda mod i will go for GTX280 first or 9800GTX Plus 1GB DDR3 512bits...

QUad core is the future. Granted, an e 8500 clocked higher than than a quad core will perform faster in applications using 2 cores max. BUT games like gta 4 will perform better in quad core. It is future proof.

BTW the asus formula board is shit expensive. QUad core boards are much cheaper like ASUS.

There is no such thing as gaming board. THe best you can get is nvidia nforce or ATI express 3200 boards. I have an exxpress 3200 board and the advantage is minimal compared to any other board.

ASUS is very sturdy and has 3 year warranty so go for it.

Your graphic card is OK. 9800 is simply a repakaged 8800. ANd gtx 280 makes sli worth having as it is so expensive.

Farazi, your 8800GT is seriously bottle-necked by your processor. I can understand why you'd want to upgrade the GPU, but you'll notice a great boost with more RAM and a more current processor.

Since single-core Desktop processors are scheduled to become extinct worldwide by 2010, multi-core programs will come out in great numbers and Quad Cores are a good choice for long-term investment.

Upgrade your processor to Q9550 (23,500)
Mobo: P5Q (~10K, cheaper at ShingTech)

Total: 33500
You can sell your mobo and processor and buy 4GB RAM. That should be enough to run most games for the next few years.

ok thnx for your help guys....but tell if i go for 4Gb Ram i must have 64-bit Vista or Xp... and 64-bit operating system has some competibility issues .. so then what ?
