Phone Stolen. Can Anything Be Done?

My mother's phone got stolen today. Now I know getting the phone back is a lost cause but can it be locked/blocked somehow? It's the private stuff on it that matters.
What's the use of this IMEI number?

Yep report it to them immediately they will lodge the theft. Ask them of your concern as well. Oh and there is a very slim chance they might retrieve it as well. Best of luck

To phr faida yaar, market mai unblocking bhi ho jati hogi new IMEI number py ya 100% useless ho jata hai cellphone...?

unfortunately, there is no use of that service. Firstly, imei have nothing to do with sd card storage. Secondly, unblocking that phone would be really easy and available service in market.

To all those who say faida nahin. Firstly it's protocol that is what you do. secondly it keeps stats accurate ( I MEAN IF everyone reports their stolen phones). Lastly I have heard a few cases where phones have been retrieved so this guy might be one of those very few lucky ones. Lastly he has nothing to lose.

Call 080055055 and give them ur imei number as well as fir number if applicable. The phone will be blocked in 24 hours. Redo the procedure again after 24 hours to check if they have really blocked the imei. Worked 2 times in my case.

blocking imei number doesn't blocks someone to transfer photos videos and other private stuff to pc...

if her phone was an android or new Nokia ones

i hope you surely get what you desiring from a stolen phone

or even get it locked forever so that the bad person could never resale it
