I just wanted to tell people looking for amazing 3D effects to go and download Step-up 3D. That movie had absolutely amazing effects and it was fun to watch the breakdancing especially the robot guy :O
Just don't expect a good story :p
Downloading the following movies in 3D right now :
Ghost Rider : Spirit of Vengeance
Hugo
And
The Adventures of Tin-Tin.

The Samsung E6500 Plasma is the best 3DTV money can buy. Little to no crosstalk, very low input lag for gaming, hardly noticeable dithering (usually an issue on most plasmas), no image retention, works well with PCs (once you rename the HDMI lable to 'PC').

Only one issue that has been mentioned in reviews is that it exhibits judder during fast moving scenes in 3D. Doesn't happen during 2d playback, though. This isn't really much of a deal breaker, because I'm sure it can be fixed via a future firmware update.

I suggest you wait for this if you plan on hooking up your PC to the TV, because it really is that much better than the E550. Neither of them have arrived in Pakistan as yet, though. The distributors say the new line of Samsung plasmas are scheduled to arrive some time in October.
Yeah, pretty much why I want to buy the e6500. Waiting sucks though. The 64" e8000 model is available on buypakistan for a whopping 440k. There are some e490 models available as well. Dunno why the mid range ones didn't make it here yet. October is so far... I'm going to try to find a way to import a set somehow I guess.

Donno i m lost!!
TVs don't support all video and audio codecs through USB. Just convert the video to a different format. For example you can use mkv2vob and the end product will run fine through USB on your TV.
downloaded the software only to find that my movie is in .mp4 format :S this is weird coz i have played movies on my TV that dont run properly on my PC but this is the only one that is giving me trouble.

I've been trying to get my hands on a D8000 Samsung Plasma for ages now. It's not available in any of the shops I've checked so far (here in Isb, in Lhr and Khi...) and the sites that claimed to have it don't anymore (shophive, buypakistan etc). I don't suppose anyone here knows a place where these are still in stock? The D550 is available at the sites, so I may just grab that if I get too tired of waiting.

Oh, and by any chance does anyone have an idea when this year's E models will arrive in Pakistan? The E6500 appears to be the ideal TV for my needs and even the E550 seems a pretty good upgrade over the D550.

I want a Plasma mostly because they have vastly better picture quality and are significantly cheaper (abroad at least). Sucks that they're not very popular in Pakistan though.
Perhaps look for the Panasonic VT50 instead. It has been given reference status by many a websites.

I need a bit of suggestion here. I have sony bravia 40ex520 led tv. As you know its internet enabled i will state my problem now.

I have ptcl modem plus a tp link router and tp link access point. Ptcl modem lan1 is connected to tp link router for wireless connectivity. Now i have connected my tv WIRED with tp link access point which is acting as transparent bridge between tp link router and tv hence internet connectivity is enabled on my tv. Now when i installed sony media remote on my android mobile the software is unable to detect my tv being on the same network just a difference of one bridge.

Phew can you guys help me sort this problem? I have updated the router roms as well.

It's also the most expensive 3D plasma model out there. I know it's awesome, but besides being overpriced as hell, I doubt it'll be coming here anytime soon. My only option is Samsung, since their models DO arrive here eventually.

Samsung and Panasonic both retail under $2000 in the US. So I don't think there will be a price difference. Panasonic does have higher demand among videophiles though due to its reviews. Availability is a different story though, but I still think someone somewhere must have a piece or two. Although the chances of finding one will be much better in khi than isl.

Btw do you have an estimate about how much the d8000 plasma cost here?

You shouldn't look at the prices abroad. Samsung is properly established in Pakistan. Panasonic, not so much, which automatically makes it a way more expensive brand over here (based on whatever few models that do make it here at least). I'd love a VT too, but it's more likely that the new Samsung ones come here. So I'll keep aiming for those.

The E8000 64" is going for 440k here: Buy Plasma TV in Pakistan. Latest Plasma TV, Plasma TV Pakistan

and here: Samsung PS64E8000 price in pakistan

D8000 was around the same price (or maybe even a little more).

Soon will be getting plasma 64e8000. Been scanning reviews since 2 days. 380k has been quoted let's see what price I get when I'm out to buy. Excited about buying a plasma for the first time however i m very much concerned about the baggage items.
