Long time posting here, life has caught up yeah but the gaming hours are still racking up. Why not so much active on PG anymore? This place doesn't look like gaming forum anymore, its more of an everything forum.
In the process of evolution PG has lost its identity, I don't think we need separate sections for everything, no need for cars section or a foodies section or any other such section you cannot force activity as it is evident that those sections are usually dead.

PG pitches itself as a gaming forum but the number of non-gaming sections make my point further clear. Back in the days PG was a gaming forum at its core, the mods were hardcore gamers and took gaming as a passion not some hobby. Not pointing fingers at anyone, everyone is doing a good job at managing this place. Moreover this place is still being financed and run by (correct me if I am wrong) by inferno.

I believe PG should work itself to make it a gaming platform the Pakistani gamers need, not another everything forum because there is facebook for that. I realized this playing Destiny when I came across some dedicated Pakistani gamers based in Pakistan who didn't know what PG is... so yeah you get my point.

Still I'd say PG has taken off since @NaNoW became admin. Discussions have pretty much started in every sub-forum. Sometime back the Anime section and football sections pretty much died.

Without an admin, the community can perform. Only if you have set of friends to set up discussion. An admin motivates members and ensures disclipline and other activities taking place :)

PG was and it's a gaming platform, in the past it was small, now it's evolve into a complete gaming lifestyle for the gamers! we watch movies, we love food, we somewhat like cars, we love to look good e.g fashion etc so this is why "other everything" jumps in, and who wants to remain socially retarded? let say that percentage is about 20%? 80% of us have to be social in order to survive in the real world (it's the reality of this-gen)

^^That's true, We are and always will be a platform that is dedicated to gaming, but just because we're gamers doesn't mean we don't have other interests, we're not robots who do nothing but play games all day (even though most of us do play alot of them), and PG is the place where Pakistani gamers and others can come together to discuss whatever they want.

One of the reasons for stalemate in Pg that comes to my mind is the dearth of really good games not being made in quantity like in the past few years.
Used to think the same. Then reached conclusion that we are not enjoying games as we used to. Perhaps the priorities have redefined.

I joined in '13, so I have no idea who any of these people are. But from the way you're all describing it, sounds like PG used to be something big back in the day.

So...what happened?
i was *sorta* pretty active here back in 2011-2012 when my gaming was at it's peak so i remember about 90% of these people. i left completely in 2013-14 and now i just scour the forums as a viewer from time to time. miss those days when i used to get home from school and open my browser and the homepage was PG :)

No one actually leaves (some do though, or are forced :p)

Life just catches on. Interest changes. Responsibilities increase. etc.

I have no idea though why @Chandoo has stopped posting here. AFAIK he is still very much active in another popular gaming forum so there's that.
I'm still here :p

just on lurk mode most of the time.Even on GAF you'll probably see me make 2 posts a week or something.

It's kinda sad that Chandoo would chose Gaf over PG but at the same time it's kinda of understandable, Games discussion is kinda dying over here.
Itna fatalist na ho mere dost, i've become very inactive of all social media, be it PG, Gaf, Facebook or even Orkut. The last one was a joke obviously, i'm ALWAYS on orkut.

We should have stats for the oldest members on PG. I myself joined just 11 days after iNF3RN0. If I remember correctly, there was a PG, of which I was a member, even before 2007, but all the data got dumped. I think this happened. Correct me If I'm wrong.

I don't post myself much either but I check PG every now and then (usually just Chit Chat). It used to be a proper gaming forum a few years ago. Now it's just..

Oh and I don't like the administration either :) Particular Blastwave. He has ruined PG :tv:

I believe it did happen. I wasn't member of old forum but the crash was pretty new when I joined, so it was mentioned more than a couple of times (by number of members).

On that note, I haven't seen any post from dcmd or badmofo (username change?) in don't know how many years. I don't even remember all the mod changes after the earlier time. First shyber was (super) mod, and then I don't remember :p

Also, if I had to make one suggestion about the forum, it would be to separate game news from game discussion (for any specific game) completely.

Good times starting from '07 with a handful of members. Trolling the PS fanboys. Chandoo coming over to Green Side. Had a blast here. But I guess what with studies and subsequently job, PG just got pushed back. I log in regularly but hardly post. Haven't been to the xbox section in years. I hope PG does good again. Spent a lot of time in the General Gaming, Xbox, Chit Chat and Movies sections.

I read the threads of the games im following but at the start it was almost checking every thread since I had time on my hand and I was following a lot of games. Also since we were few in number we kinda knew everyone on the forum. Also the achievement back the was a nice touch which allowed everyone trying their best to get the achievements they want. I was the moderator controlling them back then and I set some rules for awarding them which made things a lot interesting. For example, PG ka dewana was awarded for having 500+posts and more than 80% activity.
