Newer cards such as ATI 4650 are PCI Express 2.0 cards....Will these graphics cards run on old motherboards having PCI express 1.0 port e.g Intel 915

I doubt it though. They will not be significant shartfalls as existing pcie 1.0 slots are even not fully utilized.

it will work just as well... the only difference you see is in CF/SLI because pcie 2.0 can support 16x whereas pcie 1 only supports 8x... which means that the second card will be 8x.
