So yesterday I installed a processor on my intel DH61WW motherboard. The processor was intel core i5-3570. Before that, I had an intel i3-2120 and the computer
used to boot normally. That is, after I pressed the power button, the PC would turn on and continue to boot.

But after installing the new processor, the computer false starts once, i.e. after pressing the button, lights turn on for 1-2 seconds, no beeps, then PC turns off then starts
again after 2-3 seconds and continues to boot normally.

I searched around the net and people are saying different things (PSU or mobo issue, faulty fan controller etc) but some are saying it's pretty normal for lga 1155 motherboards. The thing that's bugging me is
PC didn't used to boot like this before installing the processor ;s Any suggestions?

Also I checked intel's website if I needed to update my bios for this processor from here
Update BIOS to Support 3rd Generation Intel(R) Core™ Processors

And according to it (after I matched my AA# etc) I already had the updated bios and there was no need for it.

PSU:- Cooler master GS-700w

something very strange. never heard something like this before.
since you have done the searching part it means you have already done everything so i can only give random suggestions that might or might not help
1. what were boot temps, etc before? and now with new processor?
2. you applied the thermal paste properly?
3. did u try resetting the cmos?
4. I used to boot in "last known good configuration" in win xp. dont know if the option still exists in win 10? you should search it too.
5. keep default settings in your bios and save and exit and try again

Hmmm, I did reset bios to defaults and saved, but didn't reset cmos as i thought resetting bios was probably the same thing.
And haven't checked boot temperature?

Is it possible that boot temps are high, but running temps are normal?

^ Checked it also. xD

Ok Bios shows boot temps around 60 degrees. And when I check using HW monitor after startup it shows current value as 48 but max as 61. I think they are fine tho assuming bios temps aren't that accurate (that's what I read on the web anyway).
I resetted the cmos as well but no luck.

Played Kingdom come for like 5 minutes and load temps were around 75. Max hit was 81.

I think you need to upgrade bios when you install 3gen processors on this board.

I used to have this issue on my old Core 2 Quad computers.
Never cared much for it as long as it worked after turning on. lol

Second, You should definitely check for bios update again.
The 61WW were originally 2nd gen motherboards, and unless you bought it used from a user with 3rd gen.
I highly doubt its been updated.

I think I updated my bios a while back. And as I said I checked that intel link and according to it my bios is 3rd gen ready.

I'm starting to thinking it's no biggie as rams and everything else is all fine. Lets hope something doesn't get burnt later on

Could be your rams, run a memtest and see if you get anything that seems alarming, worst case scenario would be your power supply. Like chicken said, it used to happen with me on old PCs and recently one of my rams was loose so the PC would turn off and then on repeatedly until I placed the ram correctly.

I lived with thus issue for 5 years, exact same issue, it is very common for lga 1155 btw, short story I never found the cure, I tried a new solution every week but nothing worked, changed rams gpu hdd psu casing nothing worked. Also this happened mostly on cold boot. Can you change LLC in bios? (Load line calibration).

I experienced the same issue with 4th gen motherboard, Asus VI HERO, that has been False booting and gets normal after 2 loops. It was resolved by replacing the old battery in the motherboard.
So try replacing the cell, I don't know if you already have tried this, but I would suggest you to give it a shot. If not helps, then something in BIOS would help.
