The game is good but really some of the scares are rather cheap with something suddenly jumping out in front of you accompanied by loud sound effects (like the prank youtube videos that try to fool you with the picture of a pretty girl followed by a loud sound). But the tactic is effective at scaring you for the first few times at least.

Got it :)! I would love to play such a game at a gathering, where all cousins/friends sit beside you and watch the game as you play it. Such a setting reminds me of Silent Hill 2 days :D... I was 12 years old and would watch my big bro play.

I also heard that the mechanisms get quite predictable by the end of the game and it becomes a so-so game. But it seems nice. Will wait for Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs though... Hope that game is a super hit :(

I played it just now. But found it very boring and repetitive. The game's antagonists aren't scary at all. All you do is play hide & seek with them. The game certainly hasn't captured that feeling which made Amnesia so uneasy to play, the fear of the unknown & "extreme dread".

I'm hoping machine for pigs would be a better game, though I'm not expecting much to be honest.

amnesia had lack of character body , physx , environmental detail where dungeon and monster are like skyrim oblivion . in sense of modern day survival horror , outlast is competing with chines/Japanese horror game like Fatal Frame .

^Amnesia had some of the best graphics and environments a gamer could hope for but it got very boring nearing the end, i didnt even finish it due to this.

[h=1]Outlast Continues to Spook With Whistleblower DLC For PS4, PC[/h]

Red Barrels revealed that the Whisteblower DLC for Outlast will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PC this coming April.

A description of the DLC is posted via the game's Facebook page:

Whistleblower will let you play as Waylon Park, a software engineer under contract with Murkoff and the man who emailed journalists around the world – including Miles – at the beginning of Outlast. Spending a couple of weeks at Mount Massive, during which he was unable to even talk to his wife and son in Boulder thanks to strict security protocols, Weylon developed a deep-seated distrust of the profit-motivated scientists and doctors leading dangerous and irresponsible experiments on their patients. Identifying with those poor souls fueled Weylon's anger, and set the stage for his unmasking of Mount Massive's rotten core.

Whisteblower will include events before and after the main game, which will serve as the final chapter to the story of Mount Massive Asylum.

Outlast is currently out now for PC and PlayStation 4. The game is free to PlayStation Plus members until next Monday.
