Also, this looks so much like Yakuza 6 in terms of aesthetics and character designs that I have a suspicion this is just misdirection for Yakuza 7.

Also Also, this game already has english subtitled versions of it's trailers on Sega US youtube channel, meaning odds are very high this will be localized with or very shortly after the JP release.

I downloaded the demo too after making a fake JP account .. and .. yep it's a Yakuza game in a different wrapper.

If people are getting tired of the recent trend of 2 Yakuza games per year, Sega are now making those games with different front ends (and I will probably lap up each one of them).

Fist of the North Star and Judge Eyes are both very similar to the Yakuza games .. and this game especially takes place in the same fictional city of Kamurocho .. so even the assets are probably copied over lol.

The game is fully localized in multiple languages including English, but I will play it with Japanese audio and Eng subtitles for the authentic Yakuza experience.

Sega halts Judgment shipments and digital sales in Japan following actor Pierre Taki’s arrest

Sega has announced a voluntary halt on shipments and digital sales of Judgment (Judge Eyes: Shinigami no Yuigon) in Japan following news of actor Pierre Taki’s arrest for allegedly using cocaine in violation of Japan’s drug control law.

Taki plays the role of Kyohei Hamura in Judgment. Hamura is the captain of the Matsugane family, a subsidiary of the Tojo Clan based in Kamurocho.

In a press release, Sega said, “Sega has received the arrest reports and are currently confirming the facts, but for the time being, we will voluntarily refrain from shipments and digital sales of [Judgment], as well as from things like posting the product’s homepage. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause for customers, as well as the parties involved.”

In a tweet, Sega added its tweets related to Judgment have also been deleted.

Sega will make an announcement regarding its future course of action as soon as a decision is made.

Judgment launched for PlayStation 4 in December 2018 in Japan, and is due out in the Americas and Europe on June 25. There is no word on whether Taki’s arrest will affect the western release.

It should be noted that when Sega re-released Yakuza 4 for PlayStation 4 in Japan this January, Masayoshi Tanimura (one of the game’s four playable protagonists) was recast to be played by Toshiki Masuda due to original actor Hiroki Narimiya retiring in 2016 following allegations of cocaine abuse.

Sega has wiped actor Pierre Taki from its video game Judgment, replacing his voice and likeness with that of a new performer, based on video released of the game on Tuesday. Taki was previously the basis for character Kyohei Hamura, but in an update from game developerRyu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Twitter account, that yakuza has a different look.
Taki’s removal from Judgment — which is slated for release in North America this June — comes after the actor and musician was arrested for suspicion of drug use in March. According to police, Taki tested positive for cocaine based on a urine test. Possession or use of cocaine carries a prison sentence of up to seven years in Japan, but such arrests can also effectively end an artist’s career overseas. Sega and Square Enix removed Taki’s voice work from Judgment and Kingdom Hearts 3, respectively, and Sony Music dropped his band, Denki Groove, after his arrest.
Sega did not announce who will replace Taki in the updated version of Judgment, but you can check out Kyohei Hamura’s new look and English-language dub in the video below.

Judgment, a spinoff of the Yakuza series, is coming to PlayStation 4 on June 25.
