I mean .. they're not wrong .. Critical issues aside, the game's doing surprisingly well in the charts owing to the Sony marketing.

We only have UK stats to go by for now, but not only is it the biggest launch in UK for the entire year so far (Beating out games like KH3, RE2, Sekiro), it's also just set the record for the highest selling game in UK for the month of April in history.

The game won't be a commercial flop at least.

I have played around 15 hours of the game. Some of the criticism is just but the one thing that is is going too far is the criticism that the game is buggy, because it is not. I feel this is another case of Mass Effect Andromeda where the game was decent enough and yet was unjustly panned by the media.

Good thing a quick fix was rolled out asap with 1.07

Not unpatched. Most had access to patch 1.03 and tested it out before publishing their reviews. It's the more recent series of patches that weren't available to most critics. Regardless, glitches aren't the only reason for mediocre reviews.

why would you get two similar (open world) games at the same time lol. Finish RDR2 first, it's a 100 hour game itself. By the time you'd have finished it, Days Gone would be available for cheaper/used.

i ended sekiro so now was the time to play some open world story games.... i was being mixed between both and i was also thinking they are same type but than when i opend my eyes i already bought them xD.

i m planning to strt red dead first but somehow daysgone feels more actiony .... i mayb wrong

red dead was sooooooooo Slow boreeeeeeinggg..

dead gone was brutal in its first hour the gameplay was nice and the view n gfx were amazing.

Sony exclusives always look great

in the 1hr i plyed days gone was better yes..... its more action packed,,, red dead sooo slow..

lets see for now i wlll ply days gone first as i seem to enjoy that more.

I also played an hour of the game last night. It's definitely a mixed bag so far.

- The game *looks* fantastic and so far I haven't had a single frame drop or glitch.
- The pacing is a lot slower than I expected. I thought this would be paced like a Horizon: Zero Dawn, but this is a middle point between that and RDR2. By this, I mean that the game takes a second or two to do basic tasks like opening car trunks, picking up things etc.
- The mechanics of exploration etc are also slower than I thought. This is not a shooting game,this plays more like a stealth/mark enemies and carefully take them out. Being overwhelmed or in open combat with a lot of enemies can get you killed very quickly.
- The writing is certainly not on par with other first party sony stuff. However the character animations are still decent. Boozer is surprisingly a likeable character despite how the trailers show him as a typical biker guy. It's your main character who has been unlikable so far.

For sure, would love to talk about the game. It has it's obvious flaws but I honestly think it got a real bad bargain from the critics. Game is not nearly as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be.
