I've already played Persona 4 in HD via emulation on PC. Gravity Rush is great, I agree there. UC: Golden Abyss is nothing like ND's UC games. Both KZ: Mercenary and Tearaway are titles that I'm looking forward to with great interest. If they deliver, then maybe I'll consider a Vita. For now, however, Gravity Rush alone isn't going to make a good case in favor of it.
So i take it, you are not a fan of Little Big Planet Vita? :p
Or perhaps not a fan of Fighting Games on the Go?
Anyways, hopefully both of these games will end up being another quality title in the impressive VITA line-up ;)

They do, but they don't announce it a generation in advance and get people's hopes up, only to crush them with mediocre-looking corridor-esque gameplay :p
FF XIII is old story. Why are you talking about it here. Let's talk about FF XV ;). It is not going to be linear and they have already shown a lot of open environment in the 2011 and 2013 trailer. If that didn't satisfy you but the short teasers of X did, i don't even know what to say? :S

Have they produced a game in recent times that was actually good? Nope. Definitely not fixed then. :p
Their console output has fallen below average level but still hasn't hit the "medicore" level *cough* RE 6 *cough* Crysis 3
Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 were pretty decent. Not great like classic titles but they certainly weren't medicore. Enjoyable nonetheless. You can thank Motumu Toriyama for their fall from grace. You can also thank Nomura and Tabata for giving FF its pole position back. After all, were you even familiar with Monolith Soft(Baten Kaitos) before Xenoblade or From Software before Demon's Soul? From Software actually went on to make Armored Core V, lol

Their console output wasn't spectacular but wasn't downright horrible/medicore. On the other hand, they continued to deliver high quality Handheld titles like Crisis Core, Birth By Sleep, Final Fantasy Type-0 and Bravely Deafault. Even Dissidia wasn't bad and actually ended up being a fun brawler.

That just tells me that 2014 is the right time to get one. I'm in no gravity rush. Got the PS4 coming this year, remember? ;)
But the question is.... Will they survive until then? Remember, they are falling behind even GameCube levels and GC LTD sales were a staggering 22 million despite getting the most diverse Nintendo exclusive line-up(F-Zero, Star Fox, Mario, Zelda, Metroid Prime, Baten Kaitos from Monolith)

Just for Nintendo's sake, i hope they survive and pull through. I'd wait for them to release a decent console now instead of hanging on to innovation.

Persona 4 the Golden is the highest rated game on the VITA right now, and it happens to be an HD remaster of a PS2 game with some extra contenet. That is just sad.
You put it that way like it is some bad thing. Don't you know that 3DS highest rated title is also the Zelda OOT 3D port

The PS3 versions are better, and at this point, I'm more excited to see what MediaMolecule is making for the PS4.

I was talking about FFXV. The 2011 footage was open-ended, but the 2013 footage is corridor-esque with Noctis running down buildings etc. It wreaks of linearity. Don't expect anything distant from Kingdom Hearts' level design.

On the other hand, the short teaser of X was more than enough to tell me that Monolith Soft is pushing Xenoblade's design philosophy forward.

lol Nomura hasn't given SE anything back. It remains to be seen if FFXV will be a success for SE. I'm highly doubtful, though.

After all, were you even familiar with Monolith Soft(Baten Kaitos) before Xenoblade or From Software before Demon's Soul?
lol was I familiar with Monolith Soft? I played their first game when I was in my mid teens back in 1998. The game was called Xenogears, one of my all-time favorites. They also went on to make the Xenosaga series. It's just that they weren't called Monolith Soft back in the Xenogears days, because they were a part of Squaresoft (you know, the game publisher that destroyed itself by merging with Enix?).

But the question is.... Will they survive until then? Remember, they are falling behind even GameCube levels and GC LTD sales were a staggering 22 million despite getting the most diverse Nintendo exclusive line-up(F-Zero, Star Fox, Mario, Zelda, Metroid Prime, Baten Kaitos from Monolith)
lol you really think Nintendo will call it quits with the Wii U? That's definitely not happening.

At least there are other 3DS games ranked in the 90s. I believe Limbo is the only other game on the Vita, and we've all played the heck out of it on other platforms ages back.

People call LBP VITA the definite version and while i was on the brink of purchasing it, i stopped since i had literally no space on my 16 GB card. Will get it later once i am done with most of the freebies :p. But i really loved the demo and i think the controls work really well here as opposed to on PS3.

I was talking about FFXV. The 2011 footage was open-ended, but the 2013 footage is corridor-esque with Noctis running down buildings etc. It wreaks of linearity. Don't expect anything distant from Kingdom Hearts' level design.
You do know that nothing from 2011 is scrapped. So yeh, it is all there. Don't just judge your views on a single scenario. The Kingdom Hearts connection remains mostly regarding the battle system and not the linearity. Nomura has promised vast open worlds and you can already see glimpse of them through the gameplay footage.

Also this map looks linear to you?

They have also removed all traces of Linearity from Lighting Returns. What makes you think they will go back to it again in FF XV.

lol Nomura hasn't given SE anything back. It remains to be seen if FFXV will be a success for SE. I'm highly doubtful, though.
He gave them some great games, art and memorable characters and a series with massive worldwide appeal(Kingdom Hearts). I can't believe you are the one saying this here. Remember, you posted a thread way back in which Kojima had requested Nomura to remake FF VII ;)

I wasn't saying that you are not a fan of monolith or not familiar with their work(Who can forget Xenogears :) - P.S it is a SE game not Monolith). I was talking about their output after joining Nintendo. Baten Kaitos looks to be worse than Toriyama's work i.e FF XIII based on the meta score alone. They got their lucky break with Xenoblade again so why can't SE go back to its old self after getting that ass Wada away from the company :).

lol you really think Nintendo will call it quits with the Wii U? That's definitely not happening.
That remains to be seen. In May NPD, the Wii U had a terrible 35k sales and it is not even crossing 100k per month worldwide. In Japan, it is falling below even PSP levels.

At least there are other 3DS games ranked in the 90s. I believe Limbo is the only other game on the Vita, and we've all played the heck out of it on other platforms ages back.
3DS has way more quality games. I whole heartidly agree here. My only problem here is when people start calling VITA as having no games :). It has games and more are coming(Rayman Legends, for example, looks to be the definite version just like Origins). And with the arrival of PS4, we can expect more support with the second screen functionality + remote play.

See, even you didn't get it. :p

The corridors have got a little wider, that's all. lol

I'm more interested in seeing what the world map looks like.

They have also removed all traces of Linearity from Lighting Returns.
In a manner that's not too different from the non-linearity in XIII-2. I hope I'm wrong, but it's easy to doubt SE at this point.

Nomura's lost his touch, it seems. The new footage from XV was kinda disappointing, to be honest.

P.S it is a SE game not Monolith.
SE was just the publisher. It's was developed by the same studio. The logo for X sends a clear message to fans of Xenogears, because it looks exactly the same. :)

The lack of triggers means you can't really use it properly as a second screen. Sony really should've put triggers on it. Heck, even the Wii U gamepad has them. ;)

Yeh, but the PS4(& Vita)will have something that the Wii U don't. Games ;)

Triggers not being there doesn't mean that we can't assign the controller configuration. We can suit the controls to our need as we see fit.

This was a city map along with perhaps the map of the continent. We have been promised Airships and Cars. We can drive mechs as well from the 2011 trailer. There will be plenty more for sure.

That remains to be seen. His only output this generation was on handhelds. We haven't seen a proper game from him yet. Dream Drop Distance was more of a cash grab for the 3D gimmicks. I will agree to it once i see his actual work and it ends up being average.

As for the footage. It just showed us a glimpse of the combat and the world and its characters. Remember the world and characters is perhaps the most important part of any FF and its been a long time since we have seen interesting one. Matsuno's XII, while a great experience, really lacked in its character and story. XIII was full of the bullshit of Toriyama and Watanabe. With FF XV, we are getting Nojima and Nomura as the story writers, who both worked on FF VII. Tabata (Crisis Core) and Nomura as the Co-Director and Director. The music composer is also coming from your favorite JRPG this generation *hint* It is Xenoblade ;)

See, even you didn't get it. :p
Not now, perhaps later. I still haven't even gotten Persona 4: Golden. I will pick both of these this summer.

Yup, but there's no replacement for triggers.

Not too hard to imagine a mech strolling through corridors in an SE game. :p

It just showed us a glimpse of the combat and the world and its characters.
That's what was primarily disappointing. It seemed pretty shallow and clunky, based on what I've seen so far.

The music composer is also coming from your favorite JRPG this generation *hint* It is Xenoblade

People here themselves waiting for a price cut cause they know Wii U is a piece of junk for 300$. Why not save nintendo and buy one at this time when nintendo needs you so called fanboys the most. :)

you see, when a shows new season start. i dont watch its first episode right away.... i hold on until its initial season ends or so that way i can watch all the episodes in one go not waiting for every week for each new episode...

some awesome games coming this fall etc, waiting for that and if a price drop does indeed happen by that time ALL THE GOOD :) Don't worry WII-U is indeed in the bag for me....

Didn't vita came a whole year before WII U ?
So....?

Newest hardware tends to sell more than a year old one. Especially considering the fact that Wii U is of Nintendo, who are King of Japan, and they also got Monster Hunter on U.

SO...its got a whole year of a headstart on the WIIU :bd2:
We aren't talking about LTD sales, dude. We are talking about Weekly sales. Wii U was selling less than 5k this week and VITA was actually selling better than PS3, below the 3DS. But you are right, these things don't matter. Both are selling very bad but Wii U is easily the worst because of how insanely popular is Nintendo in Japan yet their console is selling terrible.
