Well, you got me curious, so I did some research of my own and turns out you're absolutely right.

And yes, I've tested my own Wii U with the regular power outlet. It works!

the underside of the adaptor must have said 100v - 240v something right ? so it means universal

Ebay was offering a really good deal for the Super Mario 3D World bundle just 2 weeks ago. Didn't know you were looking to get one, otherwise would've linked you to it. Still, there should be more deals leading up to black friday, like you said.

the 3d bundle is the same as the 3DS one right ? already ended it on 3DS so not looking for that, what i want is a SSBB bundle or a mario kart one that zelda edition got sold out

Nintendo is rolling out a new update to Wii U that adds support for its amiibo toys in anticipation of their official launch and upcoming support in games like Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.


Version 5.3.0 of the Wii U's system software introduces the following, according to Nintendo's support page:

amiibo Settings has been added to System Settings. amiibo Settings allows users to register an amiibo owner and nickname, delete data written to an amiibo by supported software, or reset an amiibo

The requisite "improvements to overall system stability" and other less noteworthy adjustments have been added as part of the new system software.


Nintendo plans to release an update for Mario Kart 8 later this week that brings amiibo support to the game. Starting on Nov. 13, players will have the option to unlock costumes for Mii racers using select amiibo. Super Smash Bros. comes to Wii U next week and an update for Hyrule Warriors introducing amiibo support is expected sometime this month.

Wii U - Advice required please

Salam guys. Have viewed this website off & on for quite some time now, kudos to the admin folks doing a good job. I am a newbie here on this form. Need info from owners of Wii U, I am planning to gift it to my son/daughter (8 & 5 yrs respectively) with whom I have played quite some games on pc. We especially enjoyed Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed/Toy Story 3 . So long story short, am I making the right decision to get a Wii U?? (don't want to expose kids to adult/violence content). Secondly what is the best package of Wii U currently available in pindi/Islamabad?? Would be clearing my FCPS (specialisation, as I am a doctor) InshaAllah soon, and would be spending loads of time playing with my kids. Thanks in advance.

Finally getting a WII U after all this Zelda hype. More likely be getting this bundle directly from Nintendo. Has the WII U been cracked yet ? Would appreciate if someone would point me in the right direction. Any thing that i should be concerned of before getting it like region locking etc ? Any accessory that's somewhat mandatory (memory card) etc ?
