UFONE U5 WAS RECENTLY RELEASED , THE DEVICE IS PRICED AT 6K AND OFFERS UNMATCHED PERFORMANCE FOR THE PRICE , WITH SOME SPECIAL HELP FROM A FELLOW PG MEMBER @Nadeem Saeed we have successfully rooted the U5 , THE METHOD IS QUITE EASY AND WONT TAKE MORE THAN 10-15 MINUTES
1 : DOWNLOAD THE APP FROM FOLLOWING LINK http://dl.shuame.com/files/RootGenius/1.8.7/RootGenius_en.exe

2:CONNECT YOUR DEVICE TO THE COMPUTER WITH USB DEBUGGING ENABLED

3: YOUR DEVICE WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE DETECTED .

4: CLICK ON ROOT DEVICE AND WAIT FOR A WHILE.

5: THE DEVICE WILL BE ROOTED WITHIN A FEW MINUTES AND AN APP CALLED KINGUSER WILL BE AVAILABLE ON YOUR DEVICE.

6 : IF KINGUSER APP IS PRESENT THEN YOUR DEVICE IS SUCCESSFULLY ROOTED , OTHERWISE ITS NOT ROOTED.

7:YOU CAN ALSO VERIFY IF YOUR DEVICE IS ROOTED OR NOT BY USING ROOT CHECKER FROM PLAY STORE.

IMPORTANT STUFF TO KNOW:
1: NO DATA PERSONAL DATA WILL BE LOST BY USING THIS METHOD.

2:YOUR DEVICE WARRANTY MAY BE VOID.

3:TO UNROOT YOUR DEVICE OPEN KINGUSER ON YOUR DEVICE>SETTINGS>REMOVE ROOT PERMISSION

Currently there's no app that I use on this device that requires root. Though I might root it when I run out of internal storage and need to remove the unwanted stuff.

yeah i was using IOS 8 Launcher (includes ios 7/8's Lockscreen) It's Super smooth And For Notification bar i used Espier Notification.

Yes, FramaRoot should work theoretically (Abuses will lead to banalf exploit for qualcomm devices)
dont have the phone so cant confirm it myself

Also for those who are not comfortable with KINGUSER and want the good old SUPERUSER app, use SRS ROOT (Google). works in a similar way using the same exploits as Root Genius but installs SuperUSer instead.Your PC should be connected to the internet while you are rooting the phone. Dont worry it is only to search the online database for the best method for your device and to update to the latest SuperUser version. also upon success it will add your device to their TESTED DEVICES list.

okay so you guys need to unlock android .. i will not into details as i assume you all know the basics , if you are asking how to unlock


reboot into bootloader in fasstboot mode

run the command

fastboot getvar cid >>> for Carrier Identification Number

Fastboot getvar mid >>> for manufacturer identification number

you need to change CID .... to unlock the phone (Sim-lock can be disabled by changing CID to all 1's can't remember if its six or eight of them)

but yes yes yes .. you need to be true radio S-Off

fastboot oem writecid <new value>

helped i guess plus it will work for anyphone that is Android no matter HTC Sony Samsung or LG

even the chineses one too

and for rooting .. there are hell lot of softwares

like Super One Click ... you can use any that you want
