I meant the unofficial flashing of the oreo beta build.
I flashed Oreo. What do you wanna know?
Looks nice but doesn't the Spigen one offer better protection?
Depends which Spigen case you're talking about.
The Alcantara Samsung one is exposed/open from the bottom but most Spigen ones aren't.

I just dropped my S8+ again today, it landed on its back. Not a scuff on the phone or the case.

The one that costs 2200 on AMT :tv: I keep forgetting its name.. says Neo Hybrid on the side.

And lucky you. I have dropped my Note 4 several times. The screen always survives.

Neo Hybrid is nice, offers very good protection, just too bulky. It's a very thick case, and I'm not a fan of those kinda cases.

I had a Neo Hybrid on my Nexus 6 and Galaxy S6 edge+, dropped many times, no damage to the phone.

My sister has one on her S7 edge, phone has been dropped quite a few times, there are scuffs on the case, but the phone is still in pristine condition thanks to the case taking all the damage.

I take the phone out of it every now and then to appreciate just how beautiful it is :tv: If I buy a Note 8, I won't be putting it in any thick cases.

Anyway, S8 Oreo rollout to non-beta users has started apparently. Still nothing here but several other countries have it. UAE too.

Also, there's a guy in the market place selling a Note 8 with some extras for 72k. Exynos version, no wear and tear but there is one tiny paint chip-off on the left side (metal part). What should I offer him? I'm actually hoping the prices would go down with the S9 announcement.

An offer of 70k would be okay, even 72 is fine if you take into account all the extras it comes with.

Yeah rollout has started. Full ROM is available for download as well.

I'll update this thread when it's available for PAK.

After S9 is launched, how big of a price drop will we see for the S8+? I'm getting tired of my Note 4 now and would like to change as soon as the S8+/Note 8 prices go down.

Don't update to Oreo. Samsung pulled the OTAs. They discovered major bugs with it.
New release coming soon.

Oreo update for the S8 has been released for Pakistan.

Build number is CRB7, check for an update in settings and you should have an OTA available.

murtaza12 - Sorry for bringing this thread up.. But when you had the S8 did you manage to find a Glass Protector which actually is compatible with a BACK COVER as well?

If anyone can confirm. Or even better suggest would be appreciated. :)

Why a problem? Thread is meant for discussion, glad you bumped it up.

Only protector fully compatible is Whitestone dome (for $55) and that's a very complicated protector to install and very expensive too, but it's compatible with a LOT of cases.

However, AMT who is importing Whitestone dome for S9, doesn't have it for S8/Note8 so you may have to get it yourself from Amazon.

The generic ones available in the market aren't compatible with a lot of cases, especially tight fitting ones since they push up on the protector either cracking it or causing it to lift up.

Whitestone looks exactly like a Rs.350 waala protector I got from the local market. I didnt install it yet. Will see if that will be compatible and update. I actually wanted a FULL COVERAGE protector.

Thanks for the reply.

Full coverage is very hard to achieve. Most protectors will advertise themselves as full coverage, which is technically true, but the adhesive is only on the top and bottom bezels, so it peels off easy and leaves a gap between the protector and display where dust and air get in, making the protector look like shit and potentially scratch your screen.
