Perth, Dec 16: Australia batsman George Bailey has equalled former West Indies captain Brian Lara's record during the fourth day of the third Ashes Test against England here at the WACA ground today.

Bailey blasted James Anderson for 3 sixes, 2 fours and a double on Monday to match Lara. Lara had hit same number of runs off South African left-arm spinner Robin Peterson in Johannesburg in 2003.

Was just looking at Ryan Harris' Test stats. Comparable to Dale Steyn though he has played fewer matches compared to the latter.

Lovely bowler. Here's for hoping he can reach the 50 match mark. A shame his career was plagued with injuries like Bond's.

How the mighty have fallen! Australia now lead the overall Ashes series wins. Both were level at 52 each before this series began.

England have been on a steady decline since the UAE loss. Captain Cook must be gutted right now. His predecessor (Strauss) never lost an Ashes when he was in charge.

So, after struggling in 8 innings, Hafeez finally made a half century.
What great knot played by debutant Sharjeel, indeed his bad luck gonna out for 61 but still good start.
After 34th over, Pakistan have the control over game, I think 270+ total is enough as our bowling is much stronger than Srilankan batting. Hope for the Best. Good Luck Pakistan

gr8 performanc by 8th wicket partners, no doubt they had just taken the match away from Pakistan, Thankfuly Anwer managed to catch the ball else the result would have been opposite.

Good for Pakistan they scored a good total after a long time.

Pak won by luck .. not from good bowling... We really need to get rid of Tanveer stupidity, Bhatti non sense bowling and even Junaid raw pace... They are not the future if Pak.. Junaid can only bowl yorkers after getting hit on foot? Really that last over was not good today, had there been Mathews etc he could finish easily in last over..
I know pitch was worst to bowl on but Bhatti and Tanveer have are NEITHER wicket takers NOR run containers!
We can bear Junaid but Tanver n Bhatti needs to get injured quickly, but wait their replacement lol Anwar Ali is worst.. selectors wht the heck r u guys doing??

It was a rather ordinary display by our fast bowlers today. Death bowling and yorkers were always the hallmarks of our fast bowling but this current lineup doesn't seem to be very good at them. Even Junaid who is otherwise a good bowler doesn't bowl enough yorkers and is usually bowling length all the time (that last over against SA being a rare exception). I just hope Umar Gul gets fit before the T20 world cup so we can get rid of Sohail Tanvir.

bad captancy by misbah ul haq yesterday . afridi had 3 overs left and he was very economical. dont know why misbah not finished afridi 10 overs quota. kukri bowled worst yesterday . pakistan team dont need to go with 3 fast bowlers in next match they should go with 2 fast bowlers. one bilawal bhatti and second choose between tanvir and junaid .

Pardon the explicitness but the Indian bowlers are giving the opposition batsmen some serious 'bamboo' stick. Poor stuff by the South African middle order (n)

Muteeb Butt: "Out of 284 only 84 is scored with boundries (15x4 and 4x6). The rest is singles, doubles and triples. Pretty good, thats what Pakistan lacked in previous games."
Interesting statistic. A youthful team always radiates positive energy and it's showing in our team. 284 would be a below-par score these days but it seems a reasonable score tonight. Conditions don't seem to be as conducive for batting as they were in Sharjah the other night.

India, meanwhile, have exceeded expectations. It's amazing how far their batsmen seem to have come since the horror story that was the ODIs. They have a serious chance of scoring a maiden series win in SA.

I'm still unable to digest the fact that we've been opening our bowling with spin. It's a defensive tactic and, ideally, shouldn't be used except in moments of extreme desperation.

Misbah isn't realizing the utility of pace bowling with the new ball. He's doing his best to nullify Junaid's effect at the start of an innings.
