The total was still short of 15 runs imo but in the end they did well... These pitches are same as what India and Aus got so i'd tell the smart asses to cool it down a bit... 350 runs is the total you go for here...

P.s. What a cracker going on b/w Sa and Ind... I am getting the feeling they are going for a draw here which is very Misbah like on Du plesseis part.

Du plessis' dismissal reminded me of Klusener in that WC semi final, throwing it away after all but winning the match. But given how often SA have choked in the past cant blame them for playing it safe after he got out.

Precisely! But I have little doubt South Africa would've won had Duminy not thrown his wicket away. India must be feeling relieved whilst the hosts must be absolutely gutted right now.

De Villiers wicket was the turning point. South Africa were cruising towards the target by then.

We really can't blame the Proteas for playing out a draw. Their past is very painful and in situations like these (in Tests), playing out overs is the most sensible thing to do.

Moments of recklessness can waste five days of effort. Kudos to De Villiers, Du Plessis and Shami. Lovely dispay of Test Cricket

With Shami's reverse-swinging yorkers, I wouldn't have advised my tail-enders to take the offensive. It only takes two balls to get two batsmen out.
Better safe than sorry you know.

With Philander going strong at the crease - he wasn't troubled AT ALL by neither Shami, Sharma nor Zaheer - and three wickets to spare, I would've put more faith in him and have Steyn be my final shot at victory.

It was still to early to give up, imo.

About Sa match well this was their chance to change their history but they always come up short in a big match situation... Not at all like a top team in the world.
