A great book i bought this sunday.

Alive >>> Piers Paul Read.

.........................................................................................................

About the book:
On October 12, 1972, a plane carrying a team of young rugby players crashed into the remote, snow-peaked Andes. Out of the forty-five original passengers and crew, only sixteen made it off the mountain alive. For ten excruciating weeks they suffered deprivations beyond imagining, confronting nature head-on at its most furious and inhospitable. And to survive, they were forced to do what would have once been unthinkable ...
This is their story -- one of the most astonishing true adventures of the twentieth century.

JK Rowling's 'secret' novel tops book charts

JK Rowling's "secret" crime novel has topped book charts after it was revealed she had written it under a pseudonym.

The Harry Potter novelist published the book - The Cuckoo's Calling - as Robert Galbraith.

The book had sold less than 500 copies before the secret emerged in the Sunday Times, according to Nielsen BookScan's figures.

Sequels plan

A spokesman for bookseller Waterstones said: "This is the best act of literary deception since Stephen King was outed as Richard Bachman back in the 1980s."

One reviewer described The Cuckoo's Calling as a "scintillating debut", while another praised the male author's ability to describe women's clothes.
Hoooo that's brilliant! Anyone read this book yet? Looking for impressions.

What A Way To Go >>> Geoffrey Abbott.

...............................
....................................

About the book:
A gruesomely, hilarious and fascinating pop-history account of methods of execution from around the world and through the ages
In this wickedly humorous book, Geoffrey Abbott describes the effectiveness of instruments of torture and reveals the macabre origins of familiar phrases such as 'gone west' or 'drawn a blank'. Covering everything from the preparation of the victim to the disposal of the body 'What a Way to Go' is everything you ever wanted to know about the ultimate penalty---and a lot you never thought to ask.

Finished reading Dan Brown's - Digital Fortress, had it with me since last couple months never got the time to read it.

It was a captivaing and spellbinding thriller, at moments you'd find it hard to let go of the universe and continue reading it for hours. Its not entirely fictional, offers a great deal of insight for the clandistine operative units the super powers have.

So yes I come here for recommendations! Insightful thrillers. I need something to read, halted GoT because of its obscenity ... can't read that holding a fast now can you?

@r3apers Why don't you try more of Dan Brown's thrillers? Digital Fortress is his weakest book in my opinion.
Yeah picked up Angels & Demons and Da Vinci Code from a friend, will read them after I finish Garden of Beasts by Jeffery Deaver. Its a good read, and the author puts an extra effort to bring into life the most minute details of the surroundings paints a vivid picture in your mind.

^This book is awesome guys, the Kray twins life of crime ended when they were arrested at the age of only 34, but in these 34 years they left a legacy so sinister that even the most violent criminals of history will salute them for their unique style of malevolent career in crime.Their profession was violence, they were the leader of their gang but instead of sending their hoods for crime they were always at the forefront with their hencies trailing behind.Even the crown of British law enforcing unit, the mighty Scotlandyard was afraid of them. When they were caught it was due to a mistake on their own part instead of cleverness of police.I had heard of the Kray twins a long time ago, i used to think they were some ordinary hooligans of england, i was insearch of a decent book on them for quite some time and by luck i found this book 15 days ago and finished it 2 days ago. After reading it i was in awe of these most dangerous individuals, they are going to stay at the top of my real life villians list.
