Offered MTO at Haier

AOA everyone. I am doing MBA marketing from IBA PU, semester just about to end in two months after that thesis would start. Anyhow I have been selected as MTO at Haier headoffice LHR. Need your kind suggestions in this regard. How do you see this opportunity? Pay is quite less in the training period though.

Please note that MTO salary varies from company to company. The pay is usually quite low depending on the company. But after one year or the MTO period you are given a management position. They might review ur salary after a certain period of time (depends on the companies policy). I am an MT at Muller and Phipps, its been 9 months. I have also gotten a salary review. So do discuss the terms and conditions. Note that your first job isnt usually glamorous and considering Pakistans unemployment / competition i think you should go for it if it is catering around your subject.

Bank al habib will pay 20k for MTO. Other companies like hub salt will pay 15 k for MTO. I am telling this from experience. I have applied to these places before and gone through interview tests etc. They pay less as they train you. Some banks pay more as MTO to attract candidates. I would rather work at bank al habib for less than habib metro for more. Overall i wouldnt choose banks. Anyways thats off topic. Discuss with Your "soon to be employer" or HR department about the job responsibilities and Job description. If it circles around your degree (Marketing) then go for it. If it isnt circling around your field but you feel like its something you want to pursue then go for it. If it doesnt interest you then no point in working as you will be sad and frustrated aswell.. Choose wisely.

Yeah definitely I have plans to talk comprehensively on my JD and career path with them. I was too offered MTO from BOP lahore head office. They offered 25k on training. Didnt go as its a BANK and I am a marketing guy.

Initially, don't have interest in the banking sector. My area of interest is Marketing not finance. And second thing is the Riba factor

I dont have any riba factor to be honest because arguing about it can lead to nowhere. I wouldnt want to work in a bank because of the strict policies, most of the positions being offered are sugar coated when in reality its a sales job, mto these days in bank are in branch sales etc. Also holiday issues and no social life. I worked 8 months in a bank and i wont go back again. However if i get a job in trade finance in bank ill take it up. Other departments im not so interested. Its a personal opinion i guess.
