the lady is complaining about the frigging cupboard. is it her property? is it like a built into the wall cupboard or something. cause she has no right to dictate how you treat the furniture you brought in yourself. we are landlords here is karachi and we have no right to tell them about their cleanliness. yes we have the right and we do tell them to clean their stairway cause that is used by all and not just them.
and no one paints the house before leaving that's just ridiculous. you are just supposed to not damage stuff. if you break shit then you will have to pay for it. ofcourse it has everything to do with how your contract is made up i'm just talking about the general contracts that are usually made. the second last tenants we had made like a bajillion holes in the wall to hang shit. we have no right to tell them not to do that. had to fill up all those holes when they left(they were nice people though)
p.s. pakistani aunties are like that. just don't give it much heed. and keep her entrance into your place a minimum and it should be all fine. also don't deal with her yourself let your wife do it or if you have to talk about something do it with the husband.
