Hey, I'm new to the whole pc building world, and also to the PakGamers forums. So please bare with me here. Firstly, thank you for reading this. I am looking to build myself a 100,000 (1 Lac) custom pc mostly for gaming. However I'd like it to be a good all around computer that could serve me for years to come. The hard part for me is choosing which parts I should use.. If you guys could help me choose hardware that fits this criteria, I would appreciate it a LOT!

Budget Range: 100,000
System Usage from Most to Least Important:Gaming, Editing.
Buying a monitor: No i already have one.
Location:Islamabad
Games I Want to Play: Far Cry 3, Medal Of Honor Warfighter, Battlefield 3 & 4, Max Payne 3, Arma 3, Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Ghosts,

^ I would advise to get a i7 4770, K version not necessary.

This is because the OP does editing, more threads the merrier :p

If getting a Non k version processor, u can get a cheaper motherboard which does not allow OCing, using the money in a capable gpu.

Agreed with both posts above. Man those PCs would kick some serious arse. Though I think that he might be able to get a GTX770 in that budget too? It might be for ~55K when it is released.

Get a cheap ass motherboard + i7 Haswell (non K) + GTX 770 GPU, 1 TB HDD, a better PSU than the one recommended above, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, a decent casing for ~3K. Araam say kaam ban jae ga.

No.

Also, I'd advice against getting a GTX 770 for 50k or more, considering a GTX 670 and HD 7970 can be had for 40k and 45k respectively. Besides blistering memory performance, the GTX 770 doesn't bring much of an improvement over GTX 680, unless of course you're a serious overclocker in which case GPU Boost 2.0 will help. Plus, overage overclock is higher on the GTX 770 due to little stock voltage bump.

Wouldn't a Sandy/Ivy Bridge + good cooler + OC (especially with Sandy) make more sense? Haswell processors and motherboads are going to cost a lot...you also have to take into account casing and good PSU (will cost around 10-15k combined depending on your preference), so you might not have 40k + budget for GPU. Also a good SSD will make the single largest difference in overall feel of the system. Buy a 7950 and OC the Hell out of it...much better value than 670/770 & 3GB VRAM == much more future proof (given 8GB VRAM consoles)

Core i5 2500K OR Core i5 3570K - 20000 / 23600
Asrock Z75 Pro3 - 11300
Xigmatek Loki (CPU Cooler) - 2000
Club 3D Radeon 7950 - 33500
Xigmatek Midgard II - 7500
Xigmatek Tauro 600W - 6500
Seagate 7200.14 2 TB OR Intel SSD 520 120 GB OR Intel SSD 330 180 GB - 10200/15000/16500
Corsair Value 1333 OR Corsair Vengeance 1600 - 2 * 4 GB RAM - 7200/8000
Grand Total ~ 98000 - 109000

PS. 7950/670/770/760Ti are usually considered somewhat overkill for 1080p resolutions (which I assume you have). But for future proofing they will go a long way. Also, with next gen consoles have 8 GB of RAM/VRAM, with possibly around 3-5 GB for graphics (rest for OS, system overhead, CPU etc.), it makes more sense to get a card with more VRAM (3 or 4 GB). If you really want to go Nvidia, wait for the 760 Ti, hope there is a 4 GB version that sells around 35k, otherwise IMO 7950 makes the best sense.

- - - Updated - - -

Addendum - AMD might might release a refresh of their GCN series as HD 8000 series in which case you might actually find a higher clocked and cheaper variant of the 7950 (think 1792 SPs, 1000 MHz + clock). But VRAM on such a part would likely be 2 GB (rumors point to 256 bit bus width) so I guess a 7950 OC would be better going forward.

This is what i suggest.

Intel Core i5 3570K - 23800/-
ASRock z77 Extreme4 - 15500/-
Xigmatek Asgard 382 Casing - 5000/-
Xigmatek 600w PSU - 6500/-
Club3d Radeon 7950RK - 33500/- or Club3d GTX 660Ti - 32000/-
8GB RAM 1600Mhz - 8000/- (this is market price)
WD 1TB - 7400/-

Comes down to 99700/- or 98200/- with GTX 660Ti. If you can stretch the budget a little i would suggest adding a SSD in this build as well.

Intel 335 SSD 80GB which would cost you around 11500-11600

There isint much of a difference between i5 and i7. None of the applications/games have been relaeased so far that would even bottleneck an i5.The only advantage with i7 would be a few seconds less when rendering.. might be just 1/2 seconds at most.. And one can always overclock an i5 moderately to meet upcoming demands...
i5 is a realy realy fast processor. buying anything above is pure luxury specially when on a budget.. If you had a budget of somewhere around 1.5/2 lacs then sure,, i7 would have been the top of the line product for your Rig. But in 1 lac budget, i would spend more on GPU which will not only help me in gaming but also rendering.

The extra price of an i7 is not rightly justified in your case.. But a better GPU is.!!!

In gaming, the performance of i5 and i7 is same but in editing there is a good difference, but I believe that the latest i5 from intel is more than enough for editing, after all you are not going to use it for a shop, are you?
In the case of GPU I would suggest you that you better get a card under 30k because by the end of 2014 there will be cards twice as fast than the current gtx 700 series cards. The same level of performance boost is expected which we saw from jumping from gtx 500 series to gtx 600 series. And then the resale value of a current 40k-45k cards would be under 30k, if worst than perhaps near 20k, which you don't want, right? This is a marketing stunt of Nvidia and AMD for making money.
So I would suggest you to go with HIS r9 270x which is fast as a gtx 760 (even better in some games like battlefield 4) its available at galaxy for 26k, and I am sure that it will give you a good resale value if you sale it properly.
So there you go! Hope my long and boring batain helps you.
