Dear Expert !!

I was trying to update router Firmware which name is "Gargoyle firmware" & after installing nothing is going to be appeared....
I want my STOCK firmware Back !! :( :(

I have read this LINK to the revert stock firmware back but God knows where i m doing wrong to process these commands

Spoiler: show

You can revert back with this method as far as I know... It worked for me.

1. From Windows, you'll need pscp.exe and putty.exe. Both can be downloaded here:
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgta ... nload.html

2. Download the appropriate firmware for your router. (Example: http://www.tp-link.com/en/support/downl ... n=V1#tbl_j )

3. Copy pscp.exe, putty.exe, and the firmware all to one folder for simplicity.

4. Open up a command prompt, CD to the directory with those files previously listed, then type:
pscp -scp <firmware-filename.bin> [email protected]:/tmp
(where i m facing trouble :( :( :()

5. Enter the router's admin password when prompted. The file should then copy the firmware file to the /tmp directory on your router.

6. Run putty.exe, then enter in your router's IP and connect via SSH.

7. Type in: cd /tmp

8. Type in: mtd -r write <firmware-filename.bin> firmware

9. The router will load the new firmware and reboot... Good Luck!

Snapshot getting error

If I were you, I would first ping the IP before connecting.
Are you able to ping that router ? Is it's IP 192.168.1.1 ? Could it be 192.168.0.1 ?
Try these commands and post the output :
arp -d
ping 192.168.0.1
ping 192.168.1.1
arp -a

Actually my bad, I should have asked for your IP too. Try manually assigning yourself a '192.168.1.10' and then pinging 192.168.1.1.

And the output of arp -a ? Even if a firewall type thing is blocking ICMP Echo Requests ( PING ), we can use the ARP command to identify it's presence on the local network.

From the experience last night, I think you should do this :
Make a connection between your computer and the router. It's very important to separate the local cable network. Restart both the computer and the router.
Manually assign your computer the IP 192.168.1.10.
Try that restoring procedure (considering that the router's IP is 192.168.1.1).
If it doesn't work, try, with the assumption that your router's IP hasn't changed from what you had given it (if it was 192.168.10.10, you have to assign yourself 192.168.10.x)

the link you have given for reverting back is for working gargoyle firmware. But your router is not working, its bricked.

You will need to do tftp method if your router supports it (u did not mentioned exact router model)
or the last resort is to jtag it (hardware flashing)

but it all depends on router. I have un-bricked two routers using tftp method as my router supported it (linksys wrt54g v1)

PS.

Always use windows xp with firwall turned off when trying to unbrick router.
Win7 and vista (or win8) u wont be able to do this and will get more strange errors.

i have tried these methods many times to resolve but gone in vain. !!
well still in process !!

TP-Link tl-WR841N (exact model)

any easy way to jtag? or any link ?

how do i know if my router TP-Link tl-WR841N supports "tftp". if yes then again what's easy way ?

zamana hogaya xp use kiye huwe :(

Bro i checked, your router has like 8 different versions v1.5, v3 ... etc

and check this link, it has details for tftp

http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr841nd#tftp.install

but its more complex as it needs serial port access. And i will still recommend that you install windows xp to de-brick router, as u will get strange errors while using win7 or win8 (win vista).

let us know your router exact revision

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!
