Has the Pakistani version of Netflix improved since its launch? It was quite deprived of content back then.

m on 3months trail tht came with TV its 1 device for now xD
Well according to netflix subscriptions,

1) 8$ for one device (non-Hd)
2) 10$ for two device (HD)
3) 12$ for 4 devices (FHD n UHD)

If you can play 4k content, then it must be 3rd subscription trial. [emoji14]

PK material has definitely increased by miles since its launch in PK, but obviously it's still not as good as US. However, it does have its own advantages of shows that you cannot even find on US such as the recently released Star Trek which in US is only available through CBS All Access, and around the world via Netflix.

SmartDNSProxy still works great for US content in Pak for Windows 10 app and devices like TV and and what not, other services also work but they usually are limited to browser usage only which limits Netflix's usage as in you cannot use 5.1 soundtrack from the content. All in all, Netflix is still my favorite hub for entertainment, after that Amazon Prime with its channels is a great alternative as well, works great and streams smoothly as well even on a connection as measly as 4Mbps from PeeTCL.

p.s. For me, Netflix Original content alone makes the whole subscription worth it. Absolutely in love with Netflix Original content, on par with HBO shows, if not better at times.

I have never tried to stream Amazon at 4Mbps personally, but earlier this year my PTCL connection was going through some issues and I was able to stream Netflix flawlessly at 4Mbps just fine. And from my personal experience of usage, Amazon gives faster streaming, when browser is considered at least, as compared to Netflix on my PTCL connection. As in States, they all are same to me. So, going by that, I'd assume if Netflix was able to stream at 4Mbps smoothly for me, Amazon should be too. It goes 1080p within a minute on a browser, streaming experience on devices like TV is even more smoother and goes on 1080p much faster because no other programs allocating the bandwidth and what not.

netflix works great even on 2mbps but ofcorse it wont be 1080p

the simple answer to speed be like this

what resolution u can run with youtube , you can run with netflix also.

Yes, just like YouTube, it's transcode seamlessly and even if it drops to 720p in the middle of the stream for something, more often than not, you won't notice it. They have multiple qualities for 720p HD as well, not just one, so it varies. All in all, your overall experience won't be an issue if you have a decent stable connection.

That is true, but to some extent. Netflix doesn't have the kind of load YouTube faces, so that analogy is a bit flawed. You may have terrible streaming at YouTube due to DNS issues or ISP mucking up here and there but other websites, including Netflix, would still work flawlessly, especially with their recent CDN deployment in Asia, and Pakistan in particular. And yes, even 2Mbps would work but not for FHD. However, when I mentioned 4Mbps, I meant it for 1080p. Provided your connection is at least stable, it'll move to 1080p quality within the first couple of minutes or so of your stream.

By the way, JANARIOO -- how is your 4K streaming experience on a 20Mbps connection, how long does it take to hit 4K once you start streaming and does it stay at 4K constantly throughout the stream or it drops to 1080p if there's load? Have you tried watching couple of episodes or movies without any other load on your connection but only Netflix to see if 4K stays consistent once it moves to 4K when streaming?

And this 20Mbps connection is from PTCL or some other ISP?
